  1. This is a frame from a 1930 pontiac sedan. It has the wooden wheels with the indian head center. The frame is equipped with mechanical brakes, knee action shocks and still has the steering box and shaft attached. The frame is in very nice shape. This can be a real time saver during your restoration. Not sure if it will fit other GM applications. I am asking $1200. I am located in Northeastern Pennsylvania. If you desire any other photos or measurements please PM me or e-mail me at pontiacnut@gmail.com. Thanks for looking.
  2. Hi Guys, What is the exact model denomination of my 1929 Dodge-Brothers two doors sedan. I understand it is a DA series, so it would be the model name SIX, is it right? Regarding the body type, is it Victoria or Brougham? What is the difference between these two bodies? What would be the price when new, for the case with dual sidemounts and wire wheels for this DA model? Pictures below! Thanks, JRA 1928 Chevrolet National, Touring 1929 Dodge-Brothers Six, 2 dr sedan 1929 Chrysler 75, roadster 1951 Plymouth Cranbrook, 4 dr sedan 1954 Willys-Overland Jeep, CJ3B

  5. It just "broke" by itself in the shop.... restoration ghosts are out there. Anyone have a spare? 1929-1931 should fit. I wonder if it can be welded? recast in a foundry? Does anybody know who/where?
  6. My chrome lost my parking brake trigger, and its become a mess even for stopping when running the car ordinarily. I guess many circa 1930 GM parking levers may fit. Below is a picture of the car, pre restoration and you can see the handle trigger right there. http://i1142.photobucket.com/albums/n607/pistorman/1929%20Buick%20Marquette%20Model%2037/IMG_2816.jpg http://i1142.photobucket.com/albums/n607/pistorman/1929%20Buick%20Marquette%20Model%2037/IMG_2813.jpg Thanks! 10. looking for a set of new 1929 Plymouth king pins and bushes. Need them so the car is drivable by June. My emails and phone calls to venders in New Zealand and America have come up dry so maybe someone has a set in their private collection they are willing to sell. Will
  11. Our 1929 Series 65 Roadster came to us as "in good running condition". That was a joke! We now have the car up and running after rebuilding the radiator, carburetor, replacing wiring, correcting bad wiring, cleaning gas tank, putting in spark plugs ... etc etc! Now that the car is running, we can fine tune items. The car has wood spokes. Owners manual says that the tubes were 5.50 x 18 . We are facing two challenges .. how to get the flat tube off of the split rim. How do we unfasten the rim? Seems to have a fasterner in place. Second, the tires say Goodyear 6.00-18 6 ply. Can't find this i
  12. Got our baby up and running. Now time for the fine-tuning. Realized that the previous owner had glued the arrow for the gas gauge in place. Was wondering why this always read as 1/2 tank of gas! I don't know if the gauge was broken or the wiring but would like to find a replacement model. Now that the tank is full, we also realized that the gas will pour back out when we are going up a hill ... like even our driveway. So we are also trying to find a replacement or new gas cap. Thanks!

  15. I have a 1929 Model A coupe. My copper manifold gaskets blew and needs to be replaced. It was brought to my attention that I didn't do it right the first time so I am doing this again and want to do it right this time. I am getting conflicting things to do. I had a friend tell me not to use the Indian Head shellac on the manifold gaskets because it gets too hot and will blow plus you don't use shellac on copper gaskets but in my Model A for the restorer book says that I should use shellac on the manifold gaskets. I also can't find if there is a certain torque to use when tightening the ma

  17. Hello, about ten years ago I sold a 1929 dual cowl Phaeton to a gentleman in Texas. It's the car mentioned in this thread: http://forums.aaca.org/f132/look-what-i-found-texas-166486.html Last week while going through my father's files I found some items related to this car. The car was purchased by my uncle in the 1950's. I found a credit card sized plate with the car number as seen in the attached picture. I presume it came from that car and was removed at some point. Additionally, the file contains correspondence between my uncle and a parts supplier, Miller Flying Service, Montclair,

  20. Hello! I became a member of this club when web pages did not exist. 1989 I think. I have been out of circulation as far as the club is concerned for a number of years. My car has been in storage for at least ten years. I bought it at the reno swap meet in 1988. It had come from chicago via California. the car was sold to the previous owner through Hemmings. He had it in storage for several years without attempting restoration. the Original owner had done some restoration on the engine before passing away. family sold the car the the fellow I bought it from. I spent about a year work

  22. Does anybody know where I can find a float for a 1929-1930 Carter RJH-08 carburetor? It seems like the float is pretty basic. I was wondering if I have to restrict myself to the Carter carburetor or to the years 1929 - 1930 to find a float that would work. Would I be able to expand my e-bay searches to include other carburetors that have the same float?
