  1. Please can anyone help me with a recomendation for the correct oil to use in my 1917 Roadster rear axle and Gearbox (all one Stutz unit) I am currently using a UK Oil grade called AG 140, this is a stright grade oil with no aditives, I am using a 140 grade thinking a think oil might be good to prevent wear but wondering what might have been recommended when new and what others use please?
  2. I have a "barn find" door that is from a car made between 1914 to about 1918, and appears to be coach built. The latch is stamped : JOS. N. SMITH & CO DETROIT PATENTED MAR 24 14 5052 so 1914 is the earliest it could have been produced. The original wood is intact, the latch and hinges are intact. It is contoured inwards at the latch end to match the body contour. Its not obvious to me if the contour was at the front where it matches the cowl, which would make it a so called suicide opening door, or if the contour was at the back end. It measured around 21 1/4" wide. Does anyone recognize the make of car this door is from ?
