  1. Good day everyone, We are looking for a manual steering gear box for our Pontiac Chieftain 1952 in a resonable state. The one in our car now is realy worn-out an no longer safe. Hope someone has one, ore know where to obtain one. Ivo
  2. I've looked around and heard that while not as powerful as a Buick straight 8, the Pontiac straight 8 is quite reliable. But I've heard a couple of people tell 'horror' stories about pistons splitting in two on the 268 of the 1950s. But is this a common problem with the Pontiac 248 straight 8 as well? Are there any problems that the 248 is prone to having? Thanks in advance.
  3. Looking for a Left Front bumper guard for a 55 Pontiac. Thanks, Bruce bdeane5527@windstream.net
  4. I would be interested in getting any advice/help/experience the group may have on restoring steering wheels for early 30's GM cars. Specifically, I am restoring a 1932 Pontiac. Any advice here? Anybody have experience with the Eastwood or POR-15 restoration kits? Any help appreciated.
  5. In the pics, nice looking 77 Trans Am, rebuilt '74 400 with a mild cam, a/t, p/s, p/b, a/c, Edelbrock intake, Holley carb, Headers, all tastefully done. Limited Slip rear, Dual Exhaust, 15x8 wheels, no T-tops, Runs good, sounds good, #'s show it as a Red car with Red interior and that's what you see. Couple of needs: Sun visors are loose and won't tighten up, Couple of nicks/chips in the paint, it's not a perfect car. Exhaust is a little close to the floor in a couple spots, could use to be tweaked, it'll rattle a bit on some bumps as you drive $14000. and drive it home, It's in Annapolis Md
  6. This is a Reverse Thread. I'm looking for a picture of a bumper jack for a 55 pontiac. Mine is missing and would like one but don't know what I'm looking for when I go to swap meets. If any 55 Pontiac owners would be kind enough to send me a couple of pictures of theirs it would be greatly appreciated, bdeane5527@windstream.net Thanks Bruce
  7. Professionally restored car. $25,000. Photos are available upon request
  8. Hi all. I'm new to the forum. I have a few older cars, the youngest of them being a '63 Grand Prix - a car that I've found to be surprisingly well built. I bought it from a dealer in Concorde, CA (just outside of San Fran). It turned out to be a much better car than I'd realised. Can anyone recommend someone who supplies parts for these cars? I've ordered a few parts this year from California Pontiac Restorations - dealing with a guy called Nathaniel, but I got my fingers burnt. They supplied a few parts for me, but then mistakenly sent some parts to Austria instead of Australia. He no
  9. Hi, I have a 1953 Pontiac Chiefton that I would like to sell. This car ran when it was put into storage many years ago but since then the ignition key was lost and rats infested the interior for a while. I would like to know if it would be worth it to have a key made and get the car running again, what ever that may take, before trying to sell it? Say I had to put $500 to get it to run, am I likely to get that back? Thanks for any thoughts. Rick
  10. Pontiac front clip base for a bar. Two half circle 40s era wood bar tops go on top. Lights and horn work with battery hook up. $500.00 picked up in Northern NJ or possible delivery to Hershey.
  11. Does anybody know who supplies the flexible shield (pictured below) that goes over the 3/16" brake cable on my 1932 Pontiac. The shield diameter is 9/16". I am sure this was a common material for mechanical brakes. The pieces for the front brakes have broken due to flexing as the wheels turn. Again...probably a very common problem.
  12. Does anybody have a recommendation on who has the best engine paint that can be purchased in the old Pontiac green?
  13. This 81,000 original mile car is in very good running and driving condition. It is equipped with the straight 8 engine, hydramatic auto trans, radio, clock, fender skirts, wheelcovers and wide whitewall tires. The body is super straight and rock solid. Price is $27,500. Unfortunately, my photos are too large for this format, so therefore detailed photos are available upon request. Worldwide delivery is available.
  14. Looking to buy wholesale lots of New NOS GM, A-C/Delco parts at the Hershey show. Even if you don't know what they fit bring them along and most likely I will buy as long as they have part #'s. Please e-mail description of what you have, name and space #. I will be arriving Wednesday. Thanks, Bill
  15. I am trying to tie down the years and brands this convertible rear window was used in. It is 27 3/8" wide and 7 1/2" tall. The outside finish is chrome and the inside is painted. The faces of the frame have a curved surface rather than a flat surface. I have am impression that is was used on Chevrolet convertibles possibly from 1940 1941 1942 1946 1947 1948 1949 and 1950, but I'm not sure. It may have been used on other GM products such as Pontiac, Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile or others.
  16. I'm looking for a original glass washer container for my 55 Safari. Bruce bdeane5527@windstream.net
  17. I have a 1926 Pontiac radiator shell laying around that I have had for quite some time. I sold the project that this was going to go on and it's been in storage for a couple of years. If anyone is interested I would love to see it get used. Finish isn't the best but no dents or rust through. Pontiac emblem is missing. Let me know if you are interested. I was hoping to get my money back out of it, around $225 but I am willing to work a deal or trade. I am looking for 1916-25 dodge roadster decklid or 1916-1922 dodge brothers roadster doors. Quickest response back would be if you email me
  18. Pontiacs are gone forever but these two still have utility. Complete and stock and waiting for a new home: 1947 Pontiac 4 dr 1949 sedan delivery (if I had the time I would restore this one myself). Still working on prices. Doc Lipton doc_lipton@yahoo.com
  19. 57 Pontiac Star chief 6 way power seat, in working condition, frame and spring assembly, no rot has surface rust only, everything is there. $1200 or best offer. bdeane5527@windstream.net
  20. I'm Dylan, i'm from Bettendorf High School and I would like to gather some information on the Pontiac Firebird and the franchise in general for a project. I hope that some of you are still willing to share some information with me. I am primarily interested in the first generation and the 1991 third generation convertible. I owned one but sold it just a few years ago. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
  21. Hey guys, I'm currently working on replacing the entire brake system on my 1954 Pontiac Chieftain. However, I've been running into some problems with the master cylinder. I ordered one online a few weeks ago and I installed it and bled the brakes. Whenever I pressed on the pedal nothing happened with the shoes and there was just a little geyser inside the reservoir of the master cylinder. I assumed the master cylinder was defective, thinking that fluid is just leaking past the piston. I bought another one and the same thing happened. Is there something wrong with the master cylinders or am I j

  23. Hi, This two-tone beauty is from Dayton, Ohio and is on the scene of a fire at 5th & Pine streets in the early 1950's. I wish I had a view showing the front end, but this is it. I would like to know the year, manufacturer, and model. I'm certain someone will recognize it! Steve
