  1. Hi, I shouldn't have bought this photo because I'm going to spend days trying to find out about the truck and the town! I am absolutely cluless as to the manufacturer of the tractor. Could it be an automobile cut down to pull the trailer (most likely a former horse drawn unit). Altering cars for use as fire apparatus was immensly popular during this era. Besides the tractor can anyone identify the town? There must be someone on these Forums who lived in one of those houses. The style of the buildings is certainly what was built throughout the Midwest along with West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York. In addition to the usual fabulous prize that I award for a proper identification (nothing) there will be a bonus awarded to anyone who can provide an accurate length for the Lieutenant's mustache! Take care, Steve
  2. 1948 Packard Super 8 deluxe, model 2262, serial # 226229972, lovingly cared for and remarkably well preserved luxury motor car! It has lovely beige/tan exterior, 288 cubic inch inline 8 cylinder engine, manual transmission, 120 inch wheelbase, and remarkably low mileage, 17890 miles since new. It drives and rides and handles as new. This exceptionally low mileage car is nicely equipped with options: front and rear handsome bumper guards, fender skirts, radio, clock, and backup light. The original jack is in its unopened box in the trunk, original spare tire, owners manual, other papers, and a thick service manual. This handsome car is equipped with wide whitewall 760 X 15 bias ply tires. Paint, upholstery, headliner, and instrument panel are in excellent condition. Very minor blemishes: narrow two inch long chip in paint on edge of hood drivers side, at bottom of passenger side door the stainless molding has been scraped, pictures of these 2 included; also a hairline scrape 6 inches long at bottom of rear door on passenger side; and a couple minor scratches on front of hood below the hood ornament, no pictures included because I doubt it they would show up in a picture. These are not obvious to the average admirer of the car, only to someone inspecting, looking for any flaws. Asking $27,500 or best offer (U.S. dollars). 336-765-8312, Winston Salem, North Carolina, USA. Email for more pictures: wwhitfield@triad.rr.com delivery available world wide.

  12. Hi, I'm looking to sell my late father's 1955 Packard Patrician. He bought this car new on Oct. 1, 1955 and drove it until he bought a Lincoln Continental in 1966. It sat out on the lawn for 7 or 8 years until my brother took a hand at fixing it up. I know my brother had it in running condition and drove it occassionally until the early 1980s. However, he is notorious for never finishing a job and the car still needs extensive work (for example, the inside door panels were removed again). The car has been in inside storage since the early 1980s and, to the best of my knowledge, hasn't been driven again. My mother has asked that I find a buyer for this car with a real love of Packards ("a good home" is how she put it). The car is located in Salem, OR and I can be reached at ben@bcwebhost.net. I've uploaded some pictures I took. If you're a collector or know someone who might be interested, please have them send me a message. I'm also looking for suggestions on pricing. Thanks, Ben
