  1. I tried to post yesterday but I don't see it in the list of e-mails /posts. Anyway,I started up the 64 and just happen to notice my clear in-line fuel filter had a ton of big air bubbles going through it like an aquarium. The car was running ok as normal. I checked all the line connections and they are good. The only piece of old hose is that from the metal line at the passenger door to the fuel pump. Line looked ok , some minor cracking.Gas tank was re-done 8 months ago and I put a new fuel line there when I put the tank in. Has anyone had similar problems? Normal? My guess is I need to replace that one section of hose ( looks like a bear to do) and maybe drop the tank to triple check my work. Would a vented or non vented gas cap make a difference?   2. Greetings from sunny Sacramento Calif. Started up my 64 yesterday and was tinkering around. I noticed the clear in- line fuel filter was bubbling like an aquarium! The car was running OK. I checked the clamps at the fuel pump and filter and followed the line back to the metal line at the passenger door. Everything looked fine . The rubber between the fuel pump and the metal line just mentioned is old but nothing looked cracked or leaking. The line and clamps at the gas tank are new as I had the tank re-done about 8 months ago. Before I pull the gas tank and replace the fuel line leading up to the fuel pump, can anyone tell me if what I'm seeing is normal or has had a similar problem? Thanks. John.
  3. The car in question is a 1955 Cadillac Coupe de Ville with a 331 c.i. V-8 engine. For reasons unknown to me, it has no fuel filter? I have procured the correct glass bowl type filter unit. MY QUESTION IS: Should this filter be located before the fuel pump (between the gas tank and the fuel pump), or after (between the fuel pump and the carburetor), or does it make a difference? My preference would be to filter the gas before it even enters the fuel pump.
