  5. Hello AACA & fellow Cadillac enthusiasts- My friend's father owned two of these great classics during his life. This one he kept until he passed away. We are trying to ascertain value for the car and find a way to sell the car. I've done a bit of research and they appear to be fairly rare. Some models look very valuable. It is all original. I don't know when he bought the car, but I know it has sat at his present residence for 43 years. During that time it has not moved. The body is solid overall. The fenders and the step have rust damage and a few dents. The paint appears to be the original coat. It is cracked and beat up. Mileage shows just over 2630, which means it has most certainly rolled over. It has the Hydra-Matic transmission. Small round parking lights, 5-bar grill. Motor appears to be in good condition as does woodwork. Chrome is not badly weathered. I believe it is matching numbers. It has the radio and fender mounted antenna. He started to do some work to the motor and attempted some patch work (in fiberglass - definitely a bad decision, but just on one fender). There are some spare parts, new correct whitewall tires. Apparently it belonged to the Eaton family, who were quite famous in Canada for owning a large chain of department stores. Any advice or comments will be gratefully received. Thank you in advance. I have lots of photos. We are wondering if something like ebay would be best, or private sale and where to? Would you keep it original? I think it deserves a restoration.
  6. I am looking for a 1948-49 Cadillac rear bumper if you have one or know someone with one please email or phone LOUVER LOU 928 208-3002:)
  7. The partition window on my 64 cadillac limo has a big crack in it and I'm having trouble finding a replacement. Does anybody know if it was the same part for other years? Maybe someone knows where one is being parted out? Keep your eyes open for me! Too bad it's not flat glass.
  8. The guy that sold me the car said he had air, spark, fuel and compression but couldn't get the harmonic balancer off to check the cam timing. I verified the timing marks, reassembled and it won't start. I have air/fuel for sure compression is good, spark is strong to the (new) sparkplugs. I double and triple checked the ignition timing and firing order. I've put together a hundred of these and I'm at a loss. Maybe a bunch of push rods are bent? The cam snapped in the middle? I doubt it but I'll pull the valve covers tomorrow and verify. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Excellent two-tone blue paint, body, chrome, dash, glass, and rubber for a vehicle that’s sat for 17 years. Caddy does not currently operate—however ran like a jewel when last driven in 1993. New tires, minor mechanicals, cleaning and detailing will make this valuable automobile a completely operable showpiece. 21. got a pair of 1931 Cadillac front fenders they're both side mounts spares from a V8 short wheel base (134") both wells for the spare are rusted out, besides that they are in decent shape looking for $150 for the pair, plus shipping I'm located in zipcode 35476, may be able to help out with shipping, but local pick-up is obviously preferred. I can also deliver them but that won't be too cheap either at current gas prices
  22. The car in question is a 1955 Cadillac Coupe de Ville with a 331 c.i. V-8 engine. For reasons unknown to me, it has no fuel filter? I have procured the correct glass bowl type filter unit. MY QUESTION IS: Should this filter be located before the fuel pump (between the gas tank and the fuel pump), or after (between the fuel pump and the carburetor), or does it make a difference? My preference would be to filter the gas before it even enters the fuel pump.
