  1. Hello I bought a 1956 Buick Super a few years ago and am stuck in the middle of what direction I should go with the car. Make it my own? or go stock original? I'd like to know what factory original looks like exactly. I've been reading several other threads and notice everyone asks for a website to help decode their body tags, and I am believing that i am blind or there isn't one?. Id like to assume its all original but that would be retarded. Any advise from someone who has such info or could offer me a little guidance would be much appreciated, This will be my first resto. and post. Thanks, Dan Body No. Bk 3134 Trim No. 533 Paint No. ccc Dover Dover Dover? Acc. S
  2. 1956 Dodge Coronet, "The Forward Look", 4 door sedan, original V-8 runs strong, dash mounted push button selector for the automatic transmission, light blue, with nice, clean, black and white interior, good brakes and tires. It is a very enjoyable daily driver car to enjoy. NEW: battery, carb rebuild, tuneup, valve cover gaskets, master cylinder, fuel pump, brakes, rear window gasket, front end alignment, alternator, front transmission seal, and more. This 1956 Dodge is a product of Virgil Exner's design team called "The Forward Look". When you see it, what strikes you, though it will take some time for you to figure it out, is the long, gentle, sweeping arc stretching uninterrupted from headlight brow to tail light tip. And those headlights, unlike the previous year's Dodge—and unlike those of Ford and Chevrolet—are hidden from the side by forward-canted hoods. The taillights are hooded with a complimentary rearward cant. It gives the new Dodge a sense of being in forward motion even while standing still. The doors open and close with a solid thunk, not a hollow metallic whap like today’s cars. The front grille is a handsome, massive affair, and it looks spectacular between those hooded headlights. Because of its handsome color combination and "flight sweep" styling, this car draws a crowd.Selling for less than amount invested, $6995. 336-765-8312, winston salem, North Carolina, email for pictures: wwhitfield@triad.rr.com thankyou, Jerry Whitfield

  12. I picked up the 56 Roadmaster I've been looking at. New tires/brakes/exhaust/rebuilt carb/some other things also. Driving it home, I found the steering needs to be looked at and the brakes adjusted. Have to wait for some money to come in first though, sorta blew the whole wad. $4000, which seemed good to me, but I don't know much. Just know I like it and plan to have fun and drive it a lot. Will start on the engine compartment, which is not too bad anyway. Has the original carpet, which is not worn, may re-dye it. Rear seat is fine, front one needs re-done. Only thing it really needs is new chrome trim around the right rear taillight, it is broken on top. Jerry
  13. My 56 Plymouth with a 2 speed Powerflite tranny leaks lots of fluid when parked for several days or weeks. It appears that it is coming from the shift cable. I have seen this problem posted before but no solutions. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.
  14. Major project car but it's mostly here. It's very rusty, It will need floors and trunk work, drivers door is about gone, every body panel will need help. The car does roll and steer so bring a trailer. Dash looks complete, even the original TOWN & COUNTRY Radio is here. Here's what I know is gone/missing: No tops, skirts, front bumper & guards, Carbureter, air cleaner, The wheels are wrong Rear cont' kit is not here, it has a rear bumper from a 55? with some incorrect bumper guards on it for the back end. Engine looks original WITH tach drive dist., dual ex. manifolds, fan shroud, water pump spacer, it looks like a lot of the "bird" Specific parts are here No title but VIN is intact so you can use a title co. $5000.
