Collector car values are more stable than the stock market. Enjoy your investment! The first of the famous T-Series sports cars produced by MG was introduced in 1936. The first was the TA, which spawned a succession of improved postwar models that included the TC, TD and TF. The TA had a stylish look that would define the typical British sports car for years to come. It had a tall, square radiator, wire wheels, cut-down doors, folding windscreen and rear-mounted slab fuel tank and spare tire. The TA was powered by a 1,292cc engine and fitted with pushrod-actuated overhead valves. Top speed was nearly 80 mph with zero-to-fifty taking 15 seconds. The engine was a MPJG OHV unit from the Wolseley 10 but with twin SU carburetors, modified camshaft and manifolding. The engine displaced just 1292 cc, with a stroke of 102 mm (4.0 in) and a bore of 63.5 mm (2.5 in) and power output was 50 hp (40.3 kW) at 4,500 rpm. The four-speed manual gearbox now had synchromesh on the two top ratios. Like the PB, most were two-seat open cars with a steel body on an ash frame. Mileage on the speedometer is about 29,000 miles Car was imported into USA in 1969 and no changes have been made since. It was imported by a man in Spokane Wash and mostly sat in a garage until 2007 when it was restored by a pro, everything was done to the car you can think of. All new brakes, entire gas tank taken off and cleaned out all gas lines are new. The car was also re upholstered with new seats, all new canvas etc. a couple of new knock off wheels etc It then sat until I bought it. The engine has less than .002 clearance on rods and mains, holds 50 lbs oil pressure, Original heater works, no defroster, wipers good and work. There is no smoke from the exhaust and the car averages 35 MPG on the road. I have all the old bills for everything that has been done to the car since 1969.

  9. 1948 Packard Super 8 deluxe, model 2262, serial # 226229972, lovingly cared for and remarkably well preserved luxury motor car! It has lovely beige/tan exterior, 288 cubic inch inline 8 cylinder engine, manual transmission, 120 inch wheelbase, and remarkably low mileage, 17890 miles since new. It drives and rides and handles as new. This exceptionally low mileage car is nicely equipped with options: front and rear handsome bumper guards, fender skirts, radio, clock, and backup light. The original jack is in its unopened box in the trunk, original spare tire, owners manual, other papers, and a thick service manual. This handsome car is equipped with wide whitewall 760 X 15 bias ply tires. Paint, upholstery, headliner, and instrument panel are in excellent condition. Very minor blemishes: narrow two inch long chip in paint on edge of hood drivers side, at bottom of passenger side door the stainless molding has been scraped, pictures of these 2 included; also a hairline scrape 6 inches long at bottom of rear door on passenger side; and a couple minor scratches on front of hood below the hood ornament, no pictures included because I doubt it they would show up in a picture. These are not obvious to the average admirer of the car, only to someone inspecting, looking for any flaws. Reduced to $22,500 (U.S. dollars). 336-765-8312, Winston Salem, North Carolina, USA. Email for more pictures: wwhitfield@triad.rr.com delivery available world wide.

  11. 12. Hi, new to this forum. I'm getting ready to tear down / partially disassemble my hydramatic and am in search of any other thoughts on my issue before I do. This started last fall and I have yet to resolve it. I posted this in the classic olds forum last fall and received some much appreciated feedback. Just looking for any other hydramatic tips or suggestions before I disassemble this thing. 1951 Olds hydramatic: driven out of drive way down the street and back first time in years. ( 10+ ?) Shifted late and hard. (nothing new) Pulled back into drive to drop the pan drain torus and clean screen, clean valve body... before I do I back up once and it sticks in reverse and will not let go. Reverse only... forward gears engage but will not move forward, bogs down as if under load (resisting reverse cone clutch is my guess) In neutral reving up, car inches forward a bit. No pushing the car forward in neutral unless cranking or idling. I've since drained pan, torus and cleaned screen, valve body (several times) checked linkage, checked the movement of the servos with air... I'm about to pull the tail shaft to remove the reverse clutch assembly. Any other thoughts? Much appreciated.
  13. Various fleetline parts for sale. 1951 fleetline and styleline deluxe trim, almost all of it. Have trim for front fenders, doors, windows,. Also have all windows, windshield, back window for sale. Also have headlights, bezels, and tail lights for sale. These are available from two door, and four door models. One parts car I know for a fact is a '51, but I would have to check what the other two are. Simply reply on here what parts you need and I'll let you know if I still have them. Thanks

  15. According to The Standard Catalog of American Cars, all 1951 Chevrolet Styline Deluxe's came with two-tone gray with striped broadcloth upolstery. Is this also true for the convertible? It seems like most of the '51 convertibles I've found in magazines and online have multi-colored leather upolstery with matching painted dashboards that look pretty convincing.
