  1. HELP. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE RECOMMEND SOMEONE WHO IS FAMILIAR WITH AND WHO CAN RESTORE, REPAIR, FIX A 6V SPARTON CHIME BUGLE HORN. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
  2. I would like to ask for a referral to a clock repair shop. I have a Jaeger 8-day spring wound clock that I would like to have overhauled. It runs but doesn't keep accurate time. It is in very decent condition. I want to put it back in the dashboard. It's not easy or convenient to install it or to remove it so when I put it back in the dash I would like for it to work reliably. Please respond to gjschuetz@gmail.com or call 803-493-0632. Thanks
  3. I have a 1929 Packard 6-40 Phaeton with "weak" brakes. I drove a 1920 Packard 6-33 sedan two weeks ago and purposely stomped on the brake pedal to see if I could lock up the wheels on a paved road - and they did lock and squeal on the pavement. I don't have a shop of my own to work in so I was wondering (a) if anyone can recommend a shop to take it to for brake work and ( if anyone can comment on 1929 Packard braking and in particular 1929 Packard 6-40 braking. I know another 1929 Packard 6-40 will similarly weak braking and that owner thinks it's the best it can be. I think it's dangerous and don't want to continue to drive it like this. Yes, it does stop when you come to a stop sign or traffic light BUT you have to stay a good 100ft behind the car in front in order to be safe. So, can anyone help with a referral to a shop in the Tidewater (Norfolk, Virginia) area. Can anyone help with comments about Packard 6-40 braking. If I have to take the Packard out of the Tidewater area for brake service I will do it. Thanks. George Schuetz, Norfolk, VA. 4. I want to put a new top on my 1929 6-40 Phaeton. I've looked at the HAARTZ.COM website and can't figure out which one is right for a Khaki colored top. I've looked at the HIRSCHAUTO.COM website and am still confused. Can anyone recommend the material to use that would be as close to original as can be. Thanks very much. George Schuetz, Norfolk, VA. 9. I like the 726 Sedan. Who's the owner?
  10. I would like to buy a "tour ready" Packard 8 cylinder sedan between the years 1926 and 1930 that is registered and insured and "on the road" or which can be readily registered and insured and be ready for the road. Ready to buy the right one right away. I am not interested in buying a "project". If you've got one that you might consider selling OR if you know someone else who has one that might consider selling please contact me. Thank you. 11. I would like to get a copy of the Last Will and Testament of Bernard Maybeck who passed away on Oct 3, 1957. He is buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland, Calif. PLOT: Main Mausoleum Urn Garden, Plot 359. I don't know where to start. Can someone please help me. Thanks.
  12. I bought this Packard a month ago. I am trying to get together its history back to day one. I know that Emile Petitjean took it in on trade in 1935. I think that after Emile passed in the early to mid 1970's the next owner was John Delorenzo from the Waterbury area in CT. I am trying to communicate with Delorenzo's next of kin in CT. If you can help me make contact it would be much appreciated. After Delorenzo passed in the early to mid 1990's the next owner was Bill Ruger. After Bill passed it was put through the Cristies Auction, Pebble Beach, 2004 when Dick Vento became the owner. Any information that you can share with me would be much appreciated. George Schuetz, PO Box 491, Woodstock, VT 05091. Tel 802-457-4444. Email: george41@sover.net. Thank you very much.

  14. I bought Buddy's 640 on June 20th. It's in my shop now. I am trying to learn the history on it back to day one. Story is that Earle C. Anthony special ordered it and gave it to his architect, Bernard Maybeck, in 1929 as part payment for architectural services. As far as I have been able to determine Maybeck retained ownership until he died in 1957 at which time someone else became the owner. I would like to find out who this someone is. Next thing is this someone sold it to Raymond Hudachek, Orinda, Calif in 1957-1958 for $275. Raymond moved from Orinda to Ocean Springs, MS in the early 1960's and brought the Packard with him. I have visited with Raymond and he cannot remember who he bought the Packard from. Then in 1965 Raymond sold it to Buddy Walton, Metairie, LA for $1000. Buddy passed in 1998 and the family sold it in 2007 to Jimmy and Richard Gueydan, Metairie, LA. I am now the owner as of June 20, 2008. If you know anything at all about this Packard I'd like to hear from you. If you were one of the 6-8 cars in the caravan that drove with Buddy to the 1966 Glidden Tour in Tampa please let me hear from you. If you have any pictures of the Packard from years gone by I'd like to borrow them to copy or buy them from you. Thanks. George Schuetz, 1233 Route 12, Woodstock, VT 05091. 802-457-4444. Email: george41@sover.net. Thanks very much.
  15. Word is that they were reproduced. I would like to buy a good original one or a reproduction one if you happen to have either. Thanks. George Schuetz, 1233 Route 12, Woodstock, VT 05091. Tel 802-457-4444 Email: george41@sover.net. Thanks
