  1. Exactly! No ebay transaction took place with anyone in AZ so I have no Ebay ties to this sender. I looked up the address and it takes me to a google street view of a field. I found a loosely associated phone number to the nearest address but that's disconnected. I guess the moral of the story is, if you're gonna mail a part out ya better stick some sort of invoice with phone # in with the part in case it mistakingly ends up to a wrong address. I always get other's mail due to transposed numbers or dyslexic carriers. I googled it and found its for a 97-04 C5 Corvette. These things are notorious for going faulty and go blank and come back on to AUTO at 32* celsius and stop responding to buttons. Doubt if this one even works anyway.
  2. I am so puzzled. This unknown seller sent me some sort of Delco climate control unit from a late model car (nothing to do with a Reatta). Mine is an 88 anyway. The box is addressed specifically to me with my full name and address yet I never bought anything like this. I have purchased recent parts on Ebay lately for the Reatta but nothing like this. It has a name and address from Elfrida, AZ but no invoice or anything in the box to reference! (poor decision). I'd be glad to return it but if someone sends me a part that I have no way to call back on I guess the seller is SOL? Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  3. I need the 16 way power seat attachment box in blue. I noticed the controls from the motorweek video dont look like mine though. Was there a mid 88 design change?
  4. Bump...anyone able to test 90/91 CD player with the CRT controller?
  5. Beechwood is right here The Fiero Store
  6. While we are asking for parts....I need that 16 way power seat trim piece in blue. Anyone got one?
  7. Fierostore.com sells Beechwood interior spray paint. Appears to be same color if you need to touchup any blemishes.
  8. Nahh my car is not Canadian. It was bought and registered in Portland, OR. The lights are just like in Marcks signature. Both fog and all around parking lights come on with ignition. I will try the fog switch but still think the parking lights will illuminate.
  9. Is this working as designed or do I have a problem? Anytime the car is started in broad daylight, the parking and fog lights will always run with ignition on. Or is the headlight switch malfunctioning? You cant turn all lights off period for these cars? This is an 88.
  10. I used Dallas steering wheel in the past to recover a Fiero steering wheel. Excellent work and turnaround. He's also an Ebay seller but man his prices have steadily increased over the years.
  11. I keep seeing you guys pushing to replace the headlight crank arms but not sure why? http://forums.aaca.org/f116/headlight-crank-arms-319050.html When I am traveling at night, I notice the passenger headlight flickering off road signs over bumps. Is this why the crank arm needs to be replaced? To remove slop in the mechanism or something?
  12. That would be the one! When I first saw the ad it was around 12k and I kinda laughed. Then I kept watching it for several weeks drop dramatically and thought there is no way this car is gonna last at 4990. I went to go look at it and someone had the car overnight. So I figured I was too late. I first looked at it and was NOT impressed but I had this nagging feeling that I couldnt let a 43k mile car go to some dirtbag that would just destroy a limited production car. They replaced the water pump, trans gasket, and battery so to me that felt like it brought the mechanicals up to 100% reliability. The windshield didnt even have a single pit on the glass. The front bumper has zero nicks or scratches. I just thought it was strange to have broken latches and power seat controller damage for a low mile car. I made them a lowball offer and they took it. When I picked it up, they did a thorough detail on it that made it look brand new and totally changed my prior hesitation to buy it.
  13. Okay in lieu of pride I may abandon the outdated CD install idea. I was thinking of installing a tablet. I gotta find a table that would fit that space though. This one from Scoche is cool.
  14. I'd be perfectly okay with that. Is it just a typical TRW RKE box?
  15. YES! You rock. Please let me know if you can test it. I was noticing the white/black pin combo on only Reatta CD players on Ebay but couldnt see the detail in the pinouts. The later ones only seem to have a single black pin. I wonder if I could just buy a single black CD player and just relocate the white pins into the black one.
  16. Please focus! LOL i just want to add a semi stock looking player is all. Its like a challenge.
  17. Anyone know if an 88 already has the wiring in place for the box?
  18. Hi Padgett. Are these pinouts the same on the tape slave and the CD slave? I noticed their is a white plug (power?) and a black 9 pin on the tape units but just a black 9 pin on the CD slaves at least that's what seemed to be from Ebay pics I was looking at.
  19. Didn't consider the potential of a converter. Getting warmer. Auxiliary audio to delco head unit - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards
  20. Okay from what I've read on GMC forums, the slave CD player conversion can be done but the head unit has to be tricked into seeing a continuous signal AND the slave unit must be from a 99-02 unit. Later units used different signaling. http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17580
  21. Like Fiero, I want to install RKE box from TRW in 88 Reatta. I'm assuming its the same TRW box as the one cannibalized in other GM models. Stock-looking GM keyless Entry System? - Pennock's Fiero Forum Is it a separate box or handled by the BCM? Where is the keyless entry box for Reatta kept?
  22. If I wasn't prepared to handle disappointment I wouldn't be owning 3 GM vehicles. LOL I was reading this truck forum about the single vs. upgrading to 6 CD slave unit here. CD Player to 6 Disc Changer (GM/Delco Unit) On Ebay, found a 6 slave unit. You are probably right in that it may not work but I'm willing to try. However, it should start playing the disc. Tough part is that may not be able to skip/scan through certain tracks without dedicated buttons. GM CHEVY 6 CD CHANGER REMOTE AUX SLAVE GMC YUKON DENALI | eBay Just would definitely like to see pics of the cabling pinouts between the stock Reatta tape and CD units.
  23. Wow glad this sparked some discussion. I was checking out Ebay last night looking at slave CD units and had found that MP3 thread about fooling the BCM into thinking the slave was present. (knew of the BCM thing after reading a Fiero thread where some guy had installed a complete BCM system into a Fiero from a Firebird). I figured if the CRT is sending an "eject" command its nothing more than a signal feed so that it would work on ejecting CD's too. My only hesitation is buying a slave CD unit without knowing what the terminated end looks like. Could someone please snap a photo of a stock 88 vs 90 termination end to see if the plugs are the same? If you have part #'s I'd just check it out myself. Delco (GM) Chevy/Pontiac Remote/Slave CD/Cass Cable | eBay So you guys know of a CD slave unit that has dedicated buttons? I guess that would be the one to snatch up to make this work.
  24. Can you trick the CRT/BCM into connecting up a 90/91 slave CD player? I was hoping the wiring would be very similar or at least be able to modify the pinouts to make this work. Anyone done this before?
  25. Not too worried here in the PNW where the average Summer temp struggles to get past 85 degrees. Although there was the unique summer of 2008 where inside of my house was cooking at 113 degrees at night time (PNW homes rarely have central A/C).
