  1. LOL it doesnt work because the 88 doesn't have keyless entry module. The RKE module is what responds to that feature. It activates using the following: PIN C13 GREEN w BLACK STRIPE AUTO LOCK/UNLOCK TRANSAXLE INPUT It then outputs to the lock relay using the other wire that I'm too lazy to look up right now.
  2. It's not worth it. Doesn't have 16-way, CD, or sunroof!
  3. Well this frequently happens. There was a Reatta video where I think it's the one where they were touring the factory during production. The owner of the video account has been deleted. Anyone else have these videos backed up? Reatta Video List - ReattaOwner.com
  4. Installed 6 x 9's in 88 coupe. I wanted to add some additional photos to help clarify the removal and install. Once you get the top panel off by removing the brake light cover, there's a mm bolt, and two screws covering the coat hook and seat belt pulley cover. There's a grommet near the seat belt so be careful when pulling away from the pillar. The lower rounded panel has three screws near the cargo entry and three grommets near the door. Interesting to find a body VIN tag here. Use a pry tool like this one to keep from breaking grommet brackets. Use thumbs to evenly disperse pressure when pulling the panels while trying to hold on to the grommets. I also used that tool to solve another creak problem. Two metal braces were rubbing against each other and creaking whenever going over a bump or entering a driveway. I was able to pry and bend the upper bracket up and away from the other one. This upper bracket also hold part of the plastic speaker enclosure. All this time, I just assumed the creaking noise was the vinyl rubbing against each other. Take your time and the R&R will go smooth. The 6 x 9 upgrade is amazingly better as well as the Infinity Kappa 692.i's.
  5. I installed this compass underneath the tape player. I used velcro and its just sitting on top of the relay center. I wonder if its getting electrical interference because the compass is sometimes all over the place and seems to change if I tap the brakes. It will cycle from all different directions. At one point I was traveling South, and it said I was headed Northeast, then back to South.

  7. So is this problem with the headlight switch or the relay? Surprising to see this on a low mileage Reatta. Buick Reatta parking lights clicking on/off - YouTube
  8. That burgundy/lobster red interior seems to clash too much for me. Is this an example of over-ride ordering? Classic 1990 Buick Reatta Convertible
  9. I answered my own question rant. The D7 and D16 on the grey side of the CPS power connector. Now if I could just get the compass calibrated correctly. I used a phone app and either the compass is wrong or the phone app is wrong but both were out of sync with each other. I pointed the phone app due North, but when driving the car compass kept say I was driving East or North East.
  10. Looking for clarification. I consider "beige" power supply connector to be gray. Never heard of calling gray, beige. I think of beige as brown or light brown and this one is blue and gray pinout. Am I counting 7 and 16 on the connector side or the CPS side? When looking at the grey/beige pinouts from the wiring side, these slots are empty. So am I connecting to empty pinouts? IS there an easier place to tap into 7 volts rather than using this connector? Or should I be using that junction box to the far right of the 2nd picture?

    Stereo/Navigation

I think they make 1.5 DIN GPS multimedia units. Of those Ive looked at, they seem to have that sliding LCD that pops out like a tray and up.
  12. Are these interchangeable with other GM models of the era? Say 88 Fiero? How often do they go bad?
  13. How do you determine that it needs to be replaced? I noticed that when my igntion was ON but not running, that the idiot light was flickering. When I checked "gages", it was at 9PSI not even running. So is the sender faulty?
  14. Ohh my that paint needs major correction! The paint on the hood near the emblem looks like it was scrubbed with sandpaper, probably the rest as well. Needs a DA polisher to strip down the scratches. I would use XMT and some lake country pads. The rear trunk lid has so much paint damage. The driver door carpet is missing. The steering wheel horn button is missing. The center console has warpage. The seats could use a good Leatherique scrub down. What in the hell happened to this car with such low mileage to have all this damage? Looks like hell. The defrost door vent ear piece is also fallen off. I guess what I'm saying is my 47k mile car has way less wear than this one.

    Gas milage?

Mine is mostly stuck between 17.1 and 17.5. Sometimes 18. I drive up a road to/from work mostly called Tiger Mountain...so the MPG's gets sucked going up and sometimes go back up just a tad when coasting down.
  16. Yes and no. It needs some editing to include some finer details not mentioned.
  17. Wow, not sure what I missed that was inappropriate? Thanks for confirming the pinout Kevin. Also, this one clearly says 7volts since it came from a 90 Trofeo. I read from a different post that it was 91 where they did away with the CPS.
  18. BUMP. I'm hoping this thread can answer my question about my module only having 3 wires. It's from a 90 Trofeo, 12V, Part #1647056, and the three wires are #1 port empty, #2 tan, #3 purple/white, and #4 black/red. Do I need that #1 pin ?
  19. You mentioned keyless entry seems to correlate to internal temp inside the car. I want to share with you that HondAcuras have a main relay for the fuel pump that might be similar to your experience. I gave my parents a 93 Accord that would turn over but wouldnt start. As soon as the relay was replaced, it was good as new. The circuit board on the RKE box might also be expanding/contracting depending upon the weather. Watch this video to see how you might have a weak solder joint.
  20. Thank you for this info. I went to FCC website and cross-referenced. I also included GLQ9Z6-1507 which confirmed 319MHz too. Some of the early RKE modules used 319MHz transmitter frequency. By searching for FCC ID ABO and GLQ, searching for 319MHz only, I was able to narrow down cross compatible remotes to the following (short) list. Sorry if this is repeat knowledge to some. But I have finally had an Ah-ha! moment as to why the first gen GM RKE's had the non-conforming FCC ID's. 319MHz Transmitters GLQ9Z6-1507 (Reatta) ABO0502T ABO0702T 319 MHz Receivers GLQ3B5-1508 (Reatta) ABO1002R ABO1003R GM then standardized to 315MHz. 315 MHz ABO0302R - transmit frequency 315 ABO0303R - transmit frequency 315 ABO0104R - transmit frequency 315 ABO0103T - transmit frequency 315
  21. Can someone indicate where the door lock relay(s) are as well as the trunk release relay? Hoping these are in the side panel of the passenger tunnel. Is the BCM behind the glove compartment?
  22. sorry for your loss. Did you try Padgetts request?..."Does anything happen when you press the TEST button on the IPC ? That just needs power."
  23. Good idea for a future mod. I search Acura forums and found KP Technologies module for $40. https://www.facebook.com/pages/KPtechnologies/298696380151926 KP Technologies I think this Acura owners sums it up the best: "That module consists of microcontroller based control brain that mounts on the inside of the vehicle. The brain controls the duration of the beeps, has a parking light output, and has an ignition input (to prevent beeping when the car is on). It's a little more complicated then just buying a beeper and the price reflects that!" KP Technologies Electronic Beep Module - YouTube
  24. Yes I will document this. I do MOPs for work so no big deal. And YES, I give you permission to copy my work and give tiny credit for it.
