  1. It is the same material. The only difference is long grain vs short grain and since you have original material you should be able to pick the correct one. Make sure you buy enough to cover the width and include triming. Yu can just buy the material from the companies cited but I would also buy new cotton. Make sure you have heat where you work and that the material is warm and pliable. Jan
  2. I have check peridocally on ebay and not seen the counter sink for the tubular rivet which needs a flat bottom hole. I will keep trying. Jan
  3. I am going to reline my 23 Dodge brakes but I need to find a counter sink for the rivets. I have used a ground off drill bit in the past but they tend to tear out the lining. Anybody have any idea? Thanks Jan
  4. If the rings are bad you will not have any suction which will affect the amount of gas you can suck in. If you have the carb set for an engine with normal compression, good valves when you have poor suction it will run lean. Remember if you have bad ring you will have poor compression on the power stroke and poor suction on the down stroke.
  5. You can also chuck the bolt in a drill and use a file. I have used Devcon to make a bolt look different. Jan
  6. I would start with some thing less aggressive and work up to aircraft stripper. If it says enviromential friendly it is less agressive. Jan
  7. Has anyone attempted to rebuild the corners on a pickup bed. All four of mine are rusted out. I am trying to figure what truck bed I could use for a donor or something that I could use. Since it is formed you can not use a brake. All suggestions welcome. Jan
  8. The charcoal ones burned charcoal and can be dangerous. There is a better way. Go to your local outdoor sporting goods or hunting store and buy several hand warmers. Dump the charcoal and light up the hand warmers and put them in the foot warmer. This has kept my wife warm for several hours and it is safe. No one will know what your have in your heater. Jan
  9. I love the Model T convertibles that are advertised.
  10. I agree Dodge and I might have a pair. Jan
  11. John: Thank you for the part. It arrived yesterday and I believe it is correct. I will have to take it out to my daughters to verify it. Here is what it is going in.
  12. Go to the junk yard and ask them for four space saver tires. They should give them to you when you tell them what you are going to use them for. Drill them for your hub bolt pattern and you will have four tire and wheels that you can use to move the car/truck around. Jan
  13. If you have a dialo indicator this will solve your problem and they are very easy to use. Jan
  14. John: I cannot down load your picture but i will trust your good judgement. I sent you a PM Thanks Jan
  15. Bob: Post your question in the Dodge Forum for trucks. Jan
  16. Art: Before you tear the box down make sure the wheels are properly toed in and the camber is set correctly. Jan
  17. remember that a clutch is not a transmission or is it attached to the transmission. Even if you have to change the clutch plates you will not be touching the transmission. The clutch attaches to the fly wheel. It just got simplier for you. Jan
  18. I doubt if a transmission shop can do it any better then you can. Unless the transmission guy is older then god he doesn't know any more then you do. Jan
  19. There are two shafts that come out of the drivers side of the transmission. One shaft goes all the way through the transmission and has the throw out bearing on it. The brake pedale mounts on this shaft. There is a short shaft below this shaft and the clutch pedal mounts on it and then has an arm that goes up to the other shaft. It is the short shaft that I am looking for. It should be about 3-4 inches long. I removed the clutch pedal, shaft and linkage to sand blast and paint and it washed away in the flood. I found the clutch pedal but the shaft is missing. I know that 1919-23 are the same. Thanks Jan
  20. I have never seen on that the rod goes through the saddle. I still have some parts that were washed away in the flood that I have to dig and clean up and there may be some saddles in there.
  21. I am still in need of the short shaft that the clutch pedal mounts on for a 1923 Dodge. Mine was lost in the great flood this summer. Thanks Jan
  22. Here are some I have. Do any of them look like what you need? Jan
