Replacement ID tags Delco Generator
jan arnett (2) replied to jan arnett (2)'s topic in Automobiles and Parts - Buy/Sell
thank you Jan -
Bud: I pulled this Moon about twenty years ago out of a barn and finally have the the time to restore it. The way the continential (Moon) engine is you have to remove the whole front part of the engine to replace the generator if bad. I wanted to ensure that the generator is working before installing it. The brushes look good and the bearings are tight. I used to have a growler but loaned it out and it never found its way home. Thanks for the question. Jan

When you get a flare tool spend a couple of extra dollars for one and don't buy the cheapest one you find. It will make life simpler and safer.

Replacement ID tags Delco Generator

Thank you for your suggestion. They have a great web site but unfornatly their tags are for later years. My need is for the early Delco tags which are square. In case anyone else needs their service they are http://www.classicandexotic.com/ -
Mark. Excellent idea. Thanks Jan

I am trying to test my generator on my 1923 Moon. It is a DELCO generator and it is driven by a chain. I have taken it to two shops and none of them can test it without a pulley on the front. I am thinking about putting a pulley on the rear and driving it that way Any suggestions as to how to test it and risk of driving it from the rear. Does anyone make replacement id plates for the generator. Thanks Jan

1927 MOON 660 ROADSTER
jan arnett (2) replied to JustDave's topic in Our Cars & Restoration Projects
The floor sits on a flange (rabbet) in the side rails and the firewall support. The firewall is tongue and groove. Mine is wood from the firewall to the rear of the car. See if these will help. I have included pictures showing the rail and firewall with the rabbet, also several side views of the fire wall. -

Dan have you set up a search string that tells you when something is posted. The ones I showed you ware to illustrate what you can find that is right or wrong on ebay. Remember a lot of people post and don't know what they are posting. All that I showed were connected to Fast 4.
