1. If you can find one near you then that would be ideal. I have had a few 1935 Pontiacs and they are getting tough to find. This one is the 1935 coupe, it's tough to see the "Silver Streak" up the center of the hood but it is there. good luck with the search, Joe
2. Hello, I do know of one 1935 Pontiac coupe that has been sitting in a field in Montana for 15 - 20 years. I'll try and contact the owner and see if he is willing to sell the car. The car has been sitting for a long time so the body isn't in great shape but it might be a good parts car. He isn't always around so not easy to get a hold of and in the past he goes back and forth on selling it. I'll let you know what I find out . . . . which state are you located in? Joe
3. Hello, have you tried the POCI club and some of the technical experts in the club? I have a 1935 Pontiac coupe and they have been very helpful when required, Hope this helps, Joe
4. Hi Tom, it is 32 5/8 length for the straight 8. Thanks for the heads up, Joe
5. Here are some pics of a water dsitribution tube from a 1935 Pontiac straight 6. Same as the straigh 8, just a little bit shorter. It is open on the water pump end and closed on the other end. Here are the approx. measurements of the water tube. 32 inches long - 1 1/2 inches on the long side of the end - 1 inch on the short side of the end - and the width is 1/2 inch, If you have one please let me know, Thanks, Joe
6. I'll see if I can find a pic of the straight 6 water distribution tube . . . . . it is the same dimensions as the straight 8 with the exception of the length . . . . Thanks, Joe
7. Hello, Thanks for the heads up . . . . I did give them a call and no luck so far. I'll keep looking, Cheers, Joe
8. Hi Tom, sounds good to me . . . .. so far no luck in tracking down one for a straight 8 . . . . . have found a few for the straight 6's . . . . . I'll let you know how I make out, Cheers, Joe
9. OK, I had my radiator tested and a small leak fixed before Christmas and the radiator shop tested it to 6 lbs pressure. I'll try the same with the heater core, Thanks again, Joe
10. Sounds good, I do have an older heater sitting on the shelf. I'll look into getting it tested and go from there, Thanks again, Joe
11. Thanks Russ, good points on both the heater and the cooling . . . . I'll keep it this way for now and worry about a heater core down the road . . . . Thanks for the reply and the info., Cheers, Joe
12. Hi Marty and Rusty, The engine is in a car with a heater, so I think it is an easy bypass for the heater core. I'm not sure if I'll put a heater back in so I'll leave it like this until then, Thanks for the info, Joe
13. Hello, here is a 1935 Pontiac straight 8 engine. The water hose running from the top of the water pump to the back of the head is a set-up I have not seen before. Does anyone know if this was a common "fix" for cooling problems or has anyone seen the same set-up on other Straight 8 engines? My best guess is that this would help out when the water distribution tube rusted out. Any guesses? Thanks, Joe

18. There is one for sale one E-bay right now, here is the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/1935-Pontiac-Deluxe-8-grille-Hot-rod-rat-rod-coupe-sedan-housing-shell-1936-/271548289938?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f398a1392&vxp=mtr Good Luck
19. That's a good point, I would consider any of the side mount tire covers if they fit. The body on the 1935 GM cars ( Buick, Chevrolet, Lasalle, Oldsmobile, Pontiac) were the same, fenders, quarter panels, and front ends were different. Hopefully something turns up, thanks for the reply, Joe
