  1. New to Studebakers i just got a 62 Hawk and I'm fixing stuff slowly but surely. Got the clock and gas gauge working (gas gauge was a sunken float)  Working on the horn now - got the button assembly all set but there is no horn wire. Try as I might I can't find where the wire exits the steering column. Also does the wire just twist around in the column - there soesn't seem to be any "slip ring" assembly

  2. Are all of your injectors firing? I've had a bit of experience with Fieros and ran into a similar "no closed loop" problem. Turns out that one bank of injectors wasn't firing. Fieros have a fuse for each bank--just a thought.

  3. Well I checked the drains and both were clear, but I did find dampness under the driver seat. I think I'm going to replace the "rag material" padding with some rubber fatigue mat material . The car was outside since April 4th and we had a ton of rain. But from now on it will under cover in bad weather.

  4. I traced down a smell in my 90 convertible to water in the spare tire well. Are there supposed to be any drain hole in the trunk area? Those cushioning pads hold a lot of water. I was thinking of replacing them with something or doing away with them all together.

  5. Drove the car 1400 miles to Daytona ( had a great time) and on the way home the car just quit . Wound up towing the car home still no start. Put a timing light on it and no spark. Installed  an ignition module from my parts car and  the car fired right up. Yippee problem solved. I then took about a 10 mile drive and all was fine. The next morning I started the car and was letting it run and after about 4 min it died. Fired right up again  and ran for about 30 sec. then no start. Had both modules tested and of course both passed. I then put the parts car module in and started the car right up. I let it run for 20 min and when I went to put it away I drove about 50 ft and it died again.

    ANY IDEAS?

  6. Thanks for all your responses but it seems I'll have to bite the bullet and take the car to an A/C guy.  Do I really need A/C in a convertible? But it bugs me to have something on the car that does'n work.
