  1. Too far away for me. Looks like they have some pretty neat jit at that sale.
  2. Yes, I do "got it". You and/or she know about Garage Squad from your original post. That would lead one to believe you and/or she has some idea of the premise of the show. I detailed some scenarios of how a person and their car appear to be selected for the show. I also stated that the people featured on the show appear to own one car that is unfinished, and some of the reasons given in the show for why it's unfinished. That all said, I believe my question is/was a legitimate one given the fact that she owns several of them. You may think my statements and questions may not be very tactful, but I prefer direct - that way there is no mistaking what I'm saying. ANNNND, that said, I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. Two final thoughts: Would you care to answer my question anyway? If not, will you keep us posted on how you and your friend make out with getting on the show?
  3. Your statement raises a question or two. If you've watched Garage Squad, you should realize that the show is about helping someone that can't get their car completed & back on the road, usually because of a big issue with health, family tragedy, or they've been too busy helping others through volunteering. All of the people who's cars are on the show also look like it's their only classic car. Generally, they do not appear to own several. The premise of the show is helping someone who deserves/needs the help. Given your statement, including "has several of them", how is it that she and you think she has a chance at being selected for the show?
  4. Almost every show has a mook who is either there for the "entertainment" value, their pretty face, or they have something over on the producer. A lot of times that person is the shop foreman who's butt should be canned for all their screw ups. Other times it's some chick (Overhaulin'). In Overhaulin's case they have both the chick and the guy mook giving the play by play. I know Fantomworks was taken to task here recently, but the show seemed reasonably authentic and it didn't have a bunch of bearded plump guys with their hat on backwards, rather it seems the personnel were actually mechanics, body men, etc. who looked like normal human beings. All of the above IMHO.
  5. Not mine. 6. His show is a thousand times better than Gas Monkey with his BS win, win, win.
  7. Pique verb 1. stimulate (interest or curiosity). "you have piqued my curiosity about the man" synonyms: stimulate, arouse, rouse, provoke, whet, awaken, excite, kindle, stir, spur, intrigue, galvanize "his scientific curiosity was piqued"
  8. Not mine. It's on FB. Seems a little overpriced, but I know nothing about Locomobiles or their chassis. ‎Mel Hardy‎ to Restin "N" Rustin (1977 & older) 8 hrs · Locomobile chassis for sale $58,000 40347 1917(?) Locomobile Model 38 chassis with buffalo shocks. Great beginning of a speedster. Chassis is all that’s for sale. $58,000. Make an offer that’s reasonable and I might consider it. Trades are possible.
  9. This Corvette looks to be a 1959. Chevrolet offered a Classic Cream main color with Snowcrest White coves.
  10. I agree with all you said in your reply. I quoted the above because I had a "just missed" also, about 3 days ago. 1966 Bel Air 2 door sedan. 283 powerglide turquoise/turquoise. 62000 miles one family for $5000.
  11. All of the stuff in this auction sat for many years collecting dust, bird poop & raccoon droppings. Some were stored in a pole barn with concrete floors, some were in a pole barn with dirt floors, & some were "stored" outside. Be sure to look at the undercarriage. I looked at the cars on Proxybid & it appears all of them are either not on Proxybid or not in the auction. I believe he had no relatives, so I'm wondering where the rest of the cars went as he would not sell anything in the barns. Some prices/bids on Proxybid seem reasonable, but some are insane like the '59 Impala convert. The sad part about that car is someone will jerk the original 6 banger & put a 350 in it.
  12. Most of the American makes from about 1959 through 1961 had very similar roof lines to this Ford. Take a look at photos of GM in those years. I can think of a couple/few Mopar also.
  13. Not mine. Someone here may want it. 14. That would come in handy on a hot day with a bunch of kids.

  16. Well thanks, Marty. It's nice being right once in a while.
  17. The photos I posted are of the car Han is asking about. I apologize for not making this clear when I posted. He emailed the photos to me & I posted them. So, all of you had good guesses, but all of you were incorrect. Check out the photos in my previous post.
  18. Send them to me in a private message & I'll post them if you can figure out how to post them.
