  1. Thanks for everyone's input. Was able to purchase a tap from Western Tap in California. Got prices from $109 up to $177. Taking price, service, attitude, and shipping into consideration.
  2. John It's for the female nut that attaches the speedometer cable to the male thread. I guess it's the 22 thread per inch that is the roadblock. Just ordered a tap from Western Tap in California. Best Charley
  3. Bhigdog The nut to hold the cable to the speedometer. Thanks Charley
  4. Thanks Joe $33.00 ups ground freight. No thanks. I'd of bought the tap is the freight was $10.00 or less. Let them keep it.
  5. Ed It's for a Star brass speedometer for our 1908 F Buick. Where the brass cable hooks to the speedometer. Wish you had needed and bought one for your White. Then I could of borrowed it. O well, that's how my luck goes. Best Charley
  6. Thanks Greg but I need 22 thread per inch. It's a special thread. Best Charley
  7. Need a 9/16-22 thread per inch bottom tap. Special thread. No luck on eBay, Amazon, or McMaster Carr. Did locate one in Mass. Little pricey $133.00. Called Widell in Michigan and left a voicemail. Any other sources? Need to tap just one new brass nut. Thanks in advance Charley
  8. C Carl and Hidden_hunter appreciate your response. I edited the ad to remove the Type 61 years. Best Charley
  9. Matt It's fixed and that's all that matters. The measure of accomplishment is the end result. Rather than the effort made Best Charley
  10. This tank fits 1915-17 Cadillac with external shutoff valve. A friend also mentioned it will work on a Cadillac up to possibly 1921. Price is $400.00 plus shipping or pick up in Amherst Ohio. Could possibly get hauled to Chickasha or Hershey for some gas money.
  11. Can't someone call Ed's wife tommorow? Ask if Ed got home with his new old car yet? Please Charley
  12. Ed Congratulations on your recent find and allowing us to follow along. My friend Don has a 1915 White touring car with a California top. His father purchased the car in 1953. It's a 30 h.p. car. The motor has a compression release that moves the camshaft. When his son Chad was young maybe 8 years old. Don would use the compression release and little Chad would crank start the White. People around the car were amazed a little guy could crank start the big White. Don's about ready to pass the car onto Chad now. Best of success on your trip. Don't let a little water and a simple virus alter your plans. Never stopped you before. Kindest regards Charley
  13. Heritage just posted on the Cars Wanted forum for a Maxwell A, AA, or AB. Best Charley

  18. There was a short discussion recently pertaining to factory air on a certain 1956 Cadillac. Found this Curbside Classics article explaining the unit. https://www.curbsideclassic.com/blog/cold-comfort/cold-comfort-1955-cadillac-fleetwood/ Best Charley
  19. hwellens Looks like you hit the nail on the head. Thanks Charley
  20. Any guess as to what year and make these bands might fit? They are 2" wide. Maybe for 16-17" drum? Thanks Charley
  21. Bloo It's 25" where the bead sits on the rim. The sides of the rim are larger diameter to hold the tire on the rim. Hopefully I explained it correctly. Charley
