Thanks George. My experience in restorations is that you can spend as much as you want, but you don't have to. Patience, determination and your own persperation can make it quite affordable. I love the Willys Wagons. My father-in-law has a '53.

I'm certainly not looking at it as an investment. The nice thing about antique cars is they certainly do not depreciate like new cars! I'm just trying to gauge how much to spend on purchase and restoration versus how much it is worth spending. I don't want to put a lot of money into it only to find out it's a model that no one would want. My favorite Chrysler of course would be the Town and Country. We can all dream, can't we? Normally I look around the internet at what for sale or what has sold but this model is so rare, I can't find anything to compare it to.

Does anyone know if rarity translates into value with this particular car? I know it doesn't always work that way, otherwise 55-57 Chevys would be cheap.

Jim - I am currently looking at a 48 Chrysler New Yorker Business Coupe (3 window, 1 seat). The information I received came from the Standard Catalog of Chrysler and the Standard Catalog of American Cars. Anyway there were 699 New Yorkers from 46-48. Probably has the same info for Windsors.
