  1. Thank you very much for the info Steve but air bags would require removing the original coil springs which I don’t want to do.
  2. Would like to see a picture of your front sway bar, installed if installed if possible ?
  3. Thanks frenchy51 yes,it is a lot of work but being that I am retired it’s more like play time to me.i enjoy every moment!
  4. Ok I guess. Mounted a 225/75 - 15 one on to see if they rub and how they look. Tire guy balanced it without any problems
  5. I too come in at an angle to minimize the scraping but still get some. Ordered air shocks today from A1 SHOCK ABSORBER CO. $225 for the pair plus shipping . 5 year warranty. Was going to go with KANTER which are $209 a pair and lifetime limited warranty but the person I spoke to was not very receptive to my questions, not customer friendly acted like I was asking for a hand out. I don't do business with people like that. Will update once I install them
  6. I would have to jackhammer part of the L A CITY owned street. That would bring me huge problems with the city.
  7. Thanks turbinator. Have seen what you do with the wheel covers so your words of encouragement are taken to heart
  8. Curios as to why you think it’s a challenge at idle. Are you referring to a modified set up ? I think that if all the parts are original and functioning getting it to work was just a matter of some minor adjustments to the micro switch and maybe the linkage. That’s how it worked out for me and I am no master mechanic just your below average hobbiest
  9. Sorry about the upside down. Don’t know how to correct that
  10. Greetings men thought I would share my wheel prep for paint. Plan to paint myself. Bought a cheap harbor freight gun to do the job. Will be my first time ever so wish me luck. Before I started with the disc wheel I sand blasted all the heavier rust deposits off. I used aluminum oxide for blast media. I plan on painting the entire wheel. Will use an epoxy primer then a two stage base coat clear coat. Color will be satin black
  11. Any ideas as to why that is happening? The carb , carb linkage , and bracket look original . Also the bracket does not look like it was ever bent. Seems like it should all line up without any modifying.
  12. try this man . His name is Mario. He is in Cali. 9097865323
  13. Yes you should. I hear a click on bothvericle and horizon tang. You don't need to pull your switch apart if working properly in fact I would advise against it. Use a continuity tester to check it before u take it apart.
  14. Wanted to mention that the top picture is the position of the kick down at idle. You can see how power is being fed to the converter thru the micro in this position, then directly at mid point which would be part throttle. The bottom picture show where the contractor would be at full throttle with both the converter and tranny kick down solenoid receiving power.
  15. Here you go . This is what David is talking about. Took mine apart too because my kick down was not working. The Kick Down sends power to the micro and the micro sends power to the converter at idle so you don't get that creep at a stop. Then at part throttle the kick down sends power to the converter again , this time directly ,bypassing the micro. At full throttle the kick down switch sends power to the tranny kick down solenoid as well as power to the converter. Hope this helps
  16. Adjust limit switch? ( or otherwise known as micro switch )
  17. You are welcome David. Wondering if you got the horn working also
  18. That sounds better than air shocks and more durable . Going to look into them. Thank you for the info!
  19. Did they go inside the coil springs any cutting involved? Don't want to cut my original coil springs . Great idea! But won't work for me. My car scrapes on the frame between the rear axel and transmission Thanks for that info Johnrex. It seems none of the manufacturers that used to make them for our gen rivis no longer do.( MONROE,GABRIEL,ACDELCO). Going to give KANTER a call Monday. Hoping I can use the 2nd gen AIRLIFT compressor with them. It's a digital controller . Eliminates the analog air pressure gauge . Thanks for all the help men!
  20. First of all BEAUTIFUL CAR! I think 225/75/15 but could be wrong. Whatever you have on there now looks perfect. I tried a 225/75/15 recently with a 1” adapter and got rubbing on the top side of the fender. I don’t think the tire would have rubbed without the adapter. I also did not like the way the tire looked . Too balloony and big for my taste
