When you screw the horn ring onto the back you should need to push the "ornament" (8-33-6) down to compress the spring.
If you replaced the retaining screws with longer ones then the spring will not get compressed when you tighten the horn ring.
Also, is the "cup" (8-33-29) in the steering wheel (before the spring is put on)?
You can put the wheel onto the shaft and tighten it down and then assemble the horn ring components. Just make sure that "cup" (8-33-29) goes on before the nut that holds the wheel to the shaft. I think that may solve your issue. That is what the spring sits against.
Also, what is that "plate" (8-33-26) and where does it go?

Just wait a week or two and it will be in your price range. He'll be so sick of talking to tire kickers he will accept just about anything. I'd come with your trailer so he knows your serious.
This one has been for sale for a long time and the price hasn't come down at all.

In the description, I think the seller meant to say "Chevy with Big "Rock" (not block), needs TLC" - maybe TLC means Tough Luck Charlie
Did a meteor land on the car????????
Maybe the rock goes with the car in the sale!!!!! For $3,300.00 I would think so

No problem
You're welcome
BTW that is a Plymouth clock not a Dodge but I think they are the same
Here is a 1940 Plymouth clock - looks like the difference is in the background pattern of the face

Were you there to see what happened?
It looks as if a tow chain or strap was wrapped around the bumper guard and then the car was pulled that way????????

I will send you a PM (private message)

This one is right in my town and if it was in better condition (or priced according to its condition) I would go look at it

Do you mean the one mounted on the drivers side inner fender with the fuse in it?

Was there no "Park" position in the automatic transmission?
I know Chryslers had no Park, even in my '61 Imperial, and that
the driver merely put the transmission in Neutral and applied the
parking brake. Is that the case with this Oldsmobile Hydramatic?
Didn't Buick's early Dynaflows have a Park position, though?
On Hydramatics you would put the gear shift lever in the reverse (R) position for "PARK" - with the engine off
I think (not 100% sure) there was a "pawl" activated while in reverse position, engine off, locking the transmission output shaft

I apologize. I was only trying to help you out
I did not know that the ratings were bad for this company. I have never dealt with them
Maybe I should be more careful. I wouldn't want to be the one to post information and then have someone else have a bad experience
Again, I apologize

It is a ground wire - which I have never seen connected to the switch like that. Someone likely did that.
BUT more importantly, the access hole is so you can loosen/remove the screw in order to remove the ignition switch - that is the reason for it.
