  1. When you screw the horn ring onto the back you should need to push the "ornament" (8-33-6) down to compress the spring.

If you replaced the retaining screws with longer ones then the spring will not get compressed when you tighten the horn ring.

Also, is the "cup" (8-33-29) in the steering wheel (before the spring is put on)?

You can put the wheel onto the shaft and tighten it down and then assemble the horn ring components. Just make sure that "cup" (8-33-29) goes on before the nut that holds the wheel to the shaft. I think that may solve your issue. That is what the spring sits against.

Also, what is that "plate" (8-33-26) and where does it go?

Was there no "Park" position in the automatic transmission?

I know Chryslers had no Park, even in my '61 Imperial, and that

the driver merely put the transmission in Neutral and applied the

parking brake.  Is that the case with this Oldsmobile Hydramatic?

Didn't Buick's early Dynaflows have a Park position, though?

On Hydramatics you would put the gear shift lever in the reverse (R) position for "PARK" - with the engine off

I think (not 100% sure) there was a "pawl" activated while in reverse position, engine off, locking the transmission output shaft

  3. I apologize. I was only trying to help you out

I did not know that the ratings were bad for this company. I have never dealt with them

Maybe I should be more careful. I wouldn't want to be the one to post information and then have someone else have a bad experience

    Again, I apologize
