  1. Thanks Terry, The carbs on both my 63V and 64V are Stromberg ww6-130 and 132 respectively. Neither of these has a port up near the top of the carb. A ww6-123 that I have in inventory does have both the dist. vacuum port and the choke port. So if I connect the distributor to the aft port and just leave the end of the choke pipe open, will this be ok or should I undertake to machine a new port near the top of the carb? Dick

  2. On a 1964 259 Lark V8: Automatic Where does the distributor advance vaccum line connect, to the intake manifold or to the port on aft. (firewall side) side of the 2bbl carb.? Where does the mechanical choke "U" tube connect, obviously one end of the "U" goes to the choke, where does the other go? Have looked in all the manuals and can't find plumbing schematics, do the exist?

  3. I pulled the heads on my 63 Wagonaire Datona 259 because I had compression problems on two cylinders

Took heads to a head repairshop, both had burned valves. One is otherwise OK the other has a crack in a very expensive to fix area.

The head shop told me the # on the heads is1557570. Study Intl. has new ones for sale (expensive) and they say the # is 1557571. What is the difference between the two?

Would prefer to find a good used head and have my repair shop cleanit up

    Anyone have one for sale?

Whats the diff. between 1557570 and1557571

I'm kinda laid up with a new knee for a while but it would be nice if I could get the heads ready to re-install when I'm back at full strength.

    Any thoughts??

    Dick

  4. Thanks for the replys, the T86 that is available for sale is a 3 spd automatic with an overdrive already attached. I assume it's an automatic OD, is there some other OD and if so how does one tell the difference? In reading about the T85 it appears it wasn't used in many brands and also for just a few years. It was supposed to be a ruged tranny with a cast iron case so I wondered why it wasn't picked up by more brands. This one comes with an aftermarket floor shifter.

Is there a bell housing adapter available out there that would permit coupling this to a Study 259, are the splines compatable?

Am I in uncharted waters here or has someone already successfully done this?

    Thanks, Dick

  5. Is it posible to install a T 86 automatic transmission with overdrive in a 259 v8 in a 62 Lark. Are there bell housing adaptors available.

In not a T86, is there a different tranny/adaptor with floor shifter that is recommended.

My existing 2 speed is shot and rather than fixing it I would like to have an overdrive unit.

  6. NEEDED!!

ONE LAST MISSING PIECE FROM MY '32 ROCKNE 75 IS THE CLUTCH/FLYWHEEL HOUSING.

ANY HOUSING FROM THIS VINTAGE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION WOULD PROABLY BE ADAPTABLE TO THIS CAR.

ANYONE OUT THERE WITH AN ENGINE FOR PARTS WOULD BE A LIKLEY SOURCE.

MY MANUAL LISTS SEVERAL HOUSINF PART NUMBERS: 174473,--74, 177070,--67,--66. BUT I EXPECT OTHERS COULD BE MADE TO WORK.

    ANY THOUGHTS?

    DICK

  7. Has the car been modified to include an alternator instead of a generator? Alternators have diodes in them that don't like polarity reversals.

Have you measured the current drain under both pos and neg ground configurations, seems to me the readings should be the same. If not start disconnecting things starting with the generator/regulator and see what happens to to the current.

to measure the current put an ammeter between the + bat. terminal and the cable end that is intended to attasch to the + terminal.

    Good Luck

  8. The door check straps are missing on both doors of my 32 Rockne coupe.

The strap part number is 253260 and rhe pin is 243152

Does anyone have a picture or drawing of what these look like and what the straps are made of? I can ask Andy at SNM for drawings but being saturday I thought someone on the forrum might have some info.

    Email: kemprop@msn.com

    Thanks, Dick

  9. HI,

DO YOU HAVE A DECENT RADIATOR SPLASH PAN (OTHERWISE CALLED THE RADIATOR CHIN).

THIS IS THE PART THAT HIDES THE FRAME TIPS AND EXTENDS UNDER THE RADIATOR TO PROTECT IT FROM ROAD SPLASH.

ALSO NEED THE LOWER SHEET METAL FLYWHEEL COVER.

    ALSO, THE INTAKE/EXHAUST MANIFOLD-CARBURETOR ASSEMBLY.

    ALSO, THE REAR BUMPER ASSEMBLY.

I HAVE A ROCKNE 75 BUT MANY 75 AND 54 PARTS ARE THE SAME.

    THANKS, DICK email: kemprop@msn.com

I CAN PROVIDE BETTER DESCRIPTIONS IF NECESSARY.

    THANKS,

    DICK

  10. I am VERY interested in the front splash shield. This is the sheet metal that mounts under the radiator and is configured to cover the front frame ends. Mine was lost by the body shop that was doing some body re-building.

Also could use the front bumper and the bumper mounting bracket. The bracket attaches the bumper to the frame tips.

    Thank you,

    Dick

  11. SUBJECT 32 ROCKNE MODEL 75 R/S COUPE.

I HAD A SHADE TREE BODY GUY DIS-ASSEMBLE THE CAR INTO "BODY OFF FRAME". I FIRED HIM BECAUSE HE HAD TROUBLE KEEPING COMMITMENTS AND WAS TAKING FOREVER TO DO WHAT HE PROMISED :(.

SO NOW I HAVE THE PAINTED BODY SITTING ON THE FRAME (NOT BOLTED DOWN) AND THE PAINTED FENDERS, RUNNING BOARDS ETC AND AM PLANNING ON ASSEMBLING IN MY GARAGE WITH HELP.

IS THERE A RESOURCE THAT WOULD TELL ME IN WHAT ORDER THE FACTORY ASSEMBLED, OR WHAT ORDER MAKES THE MOST SENSE. ALSO, REGARDING THE RUNNUNG BOARD PAINTED FILLER THAT TAKES UP THE SPACE BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF THE BODY AND THE RUNNING BOARD. WOULD THE FLANGE ON THIS PIECE REST ON TOP OR BELOW THE BODY TO FRAME SHIMS?

ALSO, THE ABOVE MENTIONED GUY LOST THE RADIATOR SPLASH GUARD SO I HAVE ORDERED THE DRAWINGS FOR THIS PART FROM ANDY BECKMAN AND WILL HAVE TO HAVE ONE MADE. OR-IF ANYONE KNOWS OF THE EXISTANCE OF A SIMILAR SPLASH GUARD THAT COULD BE MODIFIED TO FIT OR A GUARD FROM A MODEL 75 THAT WOULD BE MOST HELPFUL.

    DICK
