  1. I always worked with the interior shop. In the building/restoration process you will at some point have the car fully assembled, bolted together to check for fit. I would always schedule the car to go to the upholstery shop at this point. Car fits, in bare metal. And it is the perfect time for an interior guy/gal to mock up an interior. No dancing around finished cars. No worry about chips or scratches. Door panel, kick panels and anything else can be pre made. Backing or mounting points for center consoles and other things can be welded in. Have all of the pieces pre made, only needing to be wrapped when the car comes back to them finished. Saves a lot of time and headaches. This is more on the custom end. But it really worked great. Just a matter of scheduling with people. Set the pre made pieces aside. Lots of reasons it is difficult to find quality shops in any trade. I wonder why? Owning a small business is not what it used to be. More then happy to share experiences with owning a business in Idaho. So others can try to avoid what I was put through.
  2. Those could be Bounty paper towels? The quicker picker upper. Or they could be Brawny paper towels. Not knowing which one does make a person hold back on an offer.
  3. I like it. Price? If seller throws in the paper towels and dryer sheets or dish washing detergent seen in the back. Then the negotiations could begin.

  7. I had a 429 in my 1977 F250. Kept breaking fan belts. Long story short, put on the fourth belt. With hood open and increasing RPMs you could see the belt wanting to walk it’s self off. Looking down at the harmonic balancer. The outer part was separated from the inner hub. And with increased speed, it would move forward and rip off the belt. Caught it about half way off, and shut down the engine. I am sure the outer part of the balancer would go right through the hood.
  8. 1941 Chrysler fender lights, may fit other years. Nice set a few light blisters in the chrome. Could place on a daily driver as is.   10. Every State would have a fraud department in the DOMV or Their Transportation Department. These would be the inspectors that would work on title issues and vin tag issues. Contacting them would be a good start to finding the answers you are looking for.
  11. I wish you could have bought the 31 Auburn speedster project I had. And I wish I could have picked up the Cord you had. Lots of cars to play with out there.
  12. My courtesy car got a soapy bath, first time ever for that. It gets picked up this morning. Will take a picture loaded on the trailer.
  13. Giving this topic a lot of thought. I do not think that I would refuse a sale based on how a person deals with transporting their car. If they buy it, it is theirs to do with as they please. If a buyer hires a shipper, and what shows up is not what a buyer thought he was getting. I would contact the buyer before car was loaded. To make sure they know who and how their car is being transported. I always work with a buyer on getting cars transported. Sometimes it can take awhile before shipping can be arranged.
  14. Didn’t your old Cord have a Cadillac engine in it? You must be hooked on ACD cars with Cadillac engines.
  15. The guy who has the trailer owns and rides vintage Harley’s across country. I am sure he has skills to fix things if necessary. It is a budget trailer that works. I had my trailer custom built in 2003, steel deck, dove tail, set up for heavy old cars. It works as well. But still can have problems on the road. Two tires decided to go at the same time. One came apart. Took out the other tire. And ripped off my trailer lights on the fender. That was driving across Montana. Limped into a town with three tires on the ground. Got 5 new tires, back on the road to get a Cadillac.
  16. Mine had a 308 motor and transmission in the bed. Trailer must work, long drive from Idaho to Florida.
  17. I posted the Flètch clip for a laugh, what are the odds of that. The trailer would not have made it to the end of the road. Before slicing through the tires. Only way to fix it on the fly, cut the welds. And raise them up. Now those chrome parts I sold you, could possibly make their way onto my truck that I sold.😂 crazy stories can come out of this car stuff. I am getting ready for my Courtesy car to be picked up later this week. Sad to see this one go.
  18. Same tow rig as well. Guy was really nice. Guess he is after a couple of trucks. Might be a hot market for them down in Florida?
  19. If you notice the wheel wells look different. That is because I took this picture before I had to cut them free, and bolt them on. Because the weight of the truck caused the trailer fenders to rub on the tires. No need to pray they make it to Florida. They obviously made it from Idaho to Florida.
