  1. Brand new tires on the Riviera- still have the blue coating to protect the whitewalls Then again, some manufacturers offered varied color sidewalls in this timeframe
  2. \Great option - Thank you Charlie, I'd like to be able to monitor up to 8 tires at the same time since two of our three tow vehicles are older, and don't have built-in TPMS. I just replaced the TPMS sensors on our '06 Avalanche - expensive but beneficial- wish I had them on the '00 Excursion some years back prior to a blowout on the truck, passing a semi on the interstate while pulling the trailer - at night in a curve. Thankfully the truck driver recognized the situation and gave me room to recover
  3. Charlie, I've also looked at TPMS, but so far haven't found a good one which is designed for the 80 psi we run on our trailer tires. I now have Load Range "G" tires instead of the "E" we had previously, but am unsure of the capacity specs on the rims, so have kept it to 80 psi instead of the 110 psi- any thoughts from those of yoou who know much more about these than I do ?
  4. for others who have yet to figure it out, you can edit your ad by clicking on the 3 dots in the upper right corner, and the click on "edit", then make your update and don't forget to save the change. Holding your mouse pointer on your title line allows you to update your header, and also to update when an item is sold, or an issue is resolved .
  5. During the Founders Tour in West Virginia, it was an absolute pleasure getting to share a meal with first-time national AACA Tourists AnnieSS and her husband Joel. Regrettably, Joels parents were unable to attend, and we wish the very best to their entire family.
  6. 1937 Roadmaster on 2021 Founders Tour
  7. OK, the gif didn't work, so here is a still shot from the 2021 Founders Tour
  8. Another Founders Tour participant sent me this gif of our 1937 Buick Roadmaster Phaeton which did just fine on West Virginia's serious hills and twisties: https://apis.mail.aol.com/ws/v3/mailboxes/@.id==VjN-39nk_6VWbTeOehhzzMA2qdi6hAQdNpnGSsD2AarUgxE-V2wK5LiYZBrp4IPotpBqAGt8i-JIvRM460VJp2jA-Q/messages/@.id==AJnsF45Vfoj-YMZYLgIygNcPGeQ/content/parts/@.id==2.2/refresh?appid=aolwebmail&ymreqid=80305431-af31-ba33-2f2c-5a000901a300&
  9. Kudos to Franklin Gage ! The Founders Tour was excellent - Great Roads, Fantastic Scenery, Excellent Venues, Friends - Old and New one friend sent me a pic of our 1937 Buick Roadmaster, which by the way, handled the many, many steep and winding West Virginia hills beautifully ! https://apis.mail.aol.com/ws/v3/mailboxes/@.id==VjN-39nk_6VWbTeOehhzzMA2qdi6hAQdNpnGSsD2AarUgxE-V2wK5LiYZBrp4IPotpBqAGt8i-JIvRM460VJp2jA-Q/messages/@.id==AJnsF45Vfoj-YMZYLgIygNcPGeQ/content/parts/@.id==2.2/refresh?appid=aolwebmail&ymreqid=80305431-af31-ba33-2f2c-5a000901a300&
  10. I'm not a MoPar expert, but I believe that in 1960, only the Valiant (not yet under the Plymouth umbrella), had an alternator (NOT a 1 - wire either). The following year the alternator concept became more broadly accepted - at least among Chrysler Corporation.
  11. In my opinion, there is too much potential for the trailer to shift, especially if you accelerate or hit the brakes- just my 2 cents
  12. Dale & I are driving our 1937 Buick Roadmaster Phaeton, and are enjoying the roads, scenery, and especially friends as we explore West Virginia.
  13. And if it were a Nash with fold-a-bed seats and Venetian blinds, .... ?
  14. We are DRIVING the 1937 Roadmaster 80C Phaeton on the AACA FOUNDERS TOUR, based in Davis, West Virginia for the next 5 days- 80 to 160 miles/day in some extremely hilly and winding roads, based out of the Canaan Valley Resort. There are several really nice Buicks out of the 94 cars driving the tour.
  15. Jim, when we lived in Ft Wayne (1970-1971) and I needed major help with our DS-21, I went to Carl Drake In Madison, WI i don’t know if he is still available, or how to contact him since I don’t have a current member roster Sorry I can’t recall anyone closer at the moment- i Will look for the Ami-6 shop manual when we are back in New Orleans in June
  16. Fiorello, the '37 Roadmaster Phaeton (80C) is tucked away in the trailer. We head out for the AACA Founders Tour in Davis, West Virginia, and then to the AACA Eastern Divisional Tour in Cambridge, Maryland after a quick visit to friends, family, and family cemeteries in PA, NY, NJ, and DC
  17. Yes, our 1930 Packard 733 7-PanssengerTouring has a fully functional Bijur lubricating system, advising that we pull the handle once each day. had I done that during the year of Covid-19, our garage floor would reprise the EXXON VALDEZ
  18. Our '95 Fleetwood Brougham with the LT-1 and posi-traction is just that kind of surprise machine for the "Rice-Rocket" crowd who think that a dangerously lowered mini-coffin with badly cambered gumball tires and an offensively loud stainless Cat-Back exhaust magically becomes a pocket rocket. Yes, I smile at the opportunity ...
  19. Looking forward to your review- Love the art deco styling of the '34/'35 Buick, and kind-of wish a prior seller had kept his word when I agreed over the phone, many years back, to buy a 90 Series - even though our 50 Series was actually a better car.
  20. This would be a labor of love. Restoration costs are certain to exceed ultimate value. On the bright side, we kept and drove our 1934 Buick Model 58 for a dozen fantastic years prior to restoration, after which it was judged to AACA Grand National Senior. The '34 Buick is an amazing car to drive, being Buick's first year for independent fdront suspension. It steered as easily as if it had power steering with just a single finger, and rode magnificently - an absolute joy. We have passed ours on to another club member, but have exceptional memories.
  21. Nice '41 Phaeton (Convertible Sedan), ... and how 'bout the really rare 1942 Chevrolet convertible at the near-side curb ?
  22. Is is possible that the bolt head has "DDCP"? With a "P" instead of a "B", It could represent Dodge DeSoto Chrysler Plymouth
  23. We head out early next week, driving the 7.3L Excursion diesel, trailering the '37 Roadmaster enroute to ther AACA Founders Tour in Davis, WV. Our entire route, with the exception of only the final destination appears within the "cone of shame" . Hopefully by that time, the issue will have settled down. Computer security was an issue when I first entered IBM's internal development back in 1967, and things seem to have not improved much over the past 52 years
  24. The idea that a 1956 Buick is sluggish is pure hogwash. As I recall, the '56, and especially the Century, were among the best accelerating cars of that era with Zero to 60 in less than 10 seconds !
  25. Looks like this may have been photographed in Israel My sister once represented Bank Ha Po Alim, another Israeli bank. Bank Leumi, an Israeli Bank Corporation was founded in 1902, Israel's largest bank with offices in Luxembourg, US, Switzerland, the UK, Mexico, Uruguay, Romania, Jersey, and China.
