  1. The Special will NOT be slower than a '36 Ford, and it will start, drive, handle, and stop, far, far better than a Ford of that era - no comparison !
  2. Please place your cursor at the start of your title line, and add the word "SOLD" maybe even "thank you"?
  3. It was open this morning for visit from several local car clubs- Mustang groups from New Orleans and Baton Rouge, AACA Lagniappe from Houma, Model A Ford Club (it has been revived and grown locally- so maybe 100 folks there this morning - exceptional, and great to be out and about with local car guys and gals- the day started out with cars and coffee at Cafe du Monde on Veterans Blvd, and progressed to the collection, but Lagniappe folks continued to Broadway for lunch (Used to be Houston's restaurant) ... and I still regret not getting that porcelain plate - woulda', could'a, should'a !
  4. Yes, it is the one, and is bigger and better, expanded probably 3- or 4-fold
  5. Here in Metairie, Louisiana- an exceptional private collection has a great many serious collectibles - bikes, pedal cars, signs, license plates, and toys - especially from the former Pontchartrain Beach Amusement Park, but the cars are the real stars, including a white 1958 Buick Century convertible (can't find the picture right now), the 1954 Landau, and the 1941 Frank Kurtis Buick Special.
  6. Here in Metairie, Louisiana- an exceptional private collection has a great many serious collectibles - bikes, pedal cars, signs, license plates, and toys - especially from the former Pontchartrain Beach Amusement Park, but the cars are the real stars, including this Hudson Italia Coupe.
  7. A/C belt removed is symptom of much more repair/replace service needed on the R-12 Freon-based system. Nice car, but may be subject to significant additional work since that part had bee deferred/delayed/ignored, and for how long?
  8. Lots of potential to be a fine example- but lots of effort required, still. Price and location will help find a buyer- More effort needed than I can spare, or have the time and space for
  9. Edsel Ranger and Pacer were Ford-based, but Edsel Citation and Corsair were Mercury-based
  10. Columbo's car was an intentionally ratty-appearing Peugeot 403 Cabriolet, sometimes guarded by his adopted dog
  11. Very generous of Roger, and Dandy Dave's shop is the right home for it as well. Our previous '27 Chevy used this in the tranny and differential. I once bought a 5 gallon bucket from our local Mobil Oil depot, back in the late 1970s or early 1980s - put a bit aside, and put the rest in 1 quart bottles to give to other local folks with early cars.
  12. While I can't respond per the Special, the Century would be more like my 1937 Roadmaster, except that the Century would be lighter, better geared, and more sprightly and maneuverable than mine. With that in mind, my Roadmaster can handle the back roads as well as the Interstate Highways just about like a modern car - buckets of torque to handle just about any hill in high gear - Center-Point steering makes even this huge car steer like a baby carriage with no need for power steering - and the brakes are sure and positive with no need for power assist.
  13. This is one of our early Citroen keys- very plain other than the Doubke Chevron on one side, and the key manufacturer’s name (Ronis) on the other, including the keyway code. Later Citroens like our 1971 D-21 Safari wagons and ‘72 SM with steering column interlock had a much more intricate design and larger size.
  14. Back in the day, hot-rodders used these 1949 Plymouth bumpers on 49-51 Mercurys, Fords, and Chevys, liked because of their somewhat unique triple ridge, and often paired with 1952 DeSoto Grille "Teeth"
  15. That is a rare piece, and I believe it is the first year for a "Wrap-around" windshield. I believe the 1953 Oldsmobile Fiesta also had the wraparound windshield The standard series Cadillacs, Buicks, and Oldsmobiles didn't get that style until the following year - 1954, and 1955 for Chevy, and Pontiac, and I'm not certain, but kind of recall (2nd series ?) 1955 Chevy trucks and Cameo Carrier, and the GMC Suburban Pickup which also offered the Pontiac V-8 and Hydra-matic transmission.
  16. This looks similar to the deluxe horns on a friend's 1940 Chevrolet
  17. Terry, Just go up to the original title line, click somewhere in the line, then change, add, or delete, and revise your title- again, congrats !
  18. Another Northwestern luxury car without A/C- surely they sometimes get some heat and humidity, especially in rainy season - I've seen it
  19. Meant to quote your post, note my responses, above, as possible sources, both original and reprint, with appropriate cost differences Good luck, and I was foolish to have sold my '58 Impala convertible to buy a '58 TR-3, but that was college days and a blonde in 1963
  20. My 6/12 volt automatic Schumacher battery maintainers are a 1 Amp model
  21. Following their rebuild of my '54 Cadillac's power steering pump and box, Lares advised to turn the steering wheel both left and right in small, multiple increments, gradually increasing the amount of the rotation.
