  1. Larry, Can you please post a few photos of your car and engine for reference purposes? I'm 99% sure we're correct in the ID but the retrofitted Chrysler radiator shell still bugs me. The headlight bar appears to be factory made to bend forward to clear the (modified?) radiator shell. What does yours look like? Thanks Howard av8nfan@sbcglobal.net
  2. LARRY, I agree with you. The vin # in my reference books indicate that it is indeed a 1928 Essex. But can you tell me if the location of the vin # as indicated in my first posting is correct for and Essex?. I didn't know if they put them there. Also, Does anyone think this car is worth anything? Is it worth hauling it out of the field? Does anyone need parts? It seems all the mechanical parts are still there. Thanks for your help.
  3. Hey Guys, You guys seem to know a lot about Essex cars. Please go to the "What is it" Forum and see if you can help identify the car posted by me, Howard793. I think it too is an Essex but maybe a 27 or 28. What do you experts think? Thanks for your help.
  4. I'm interested as to why you chose that Icon with the P-47 fighter plane in it? Do you have anything to do with WWII aircraft?
  5. I think it has a Chrysler radiator shell and an Essex body.It has a "split six" engine and the VIN # is 909235 located on the right rear, rear leaf spring support casting.
  6. I am also curious about the numbers on an engine block in an old car I just removed from a farm In South Dakota. The engine is a split six and the numbers are CWC 525030. Does this mean it is a Chrysler product? I'm having difficulty identifying the car. Thanks
