Did Locomobile Supply Cars with Factory Tools and Jacks ?
locoman replied to Wowabunga's topic in Locomobile
Early Loco's, 1908-at least 1913, used Barrett # 44 jacks. -
Depending on the size of them, they resemble valve guides.

Pretty sure that this radiator cap project has already been done. Chris Figge from Ohio did it for his car, 1911 model 48, same cap. He also did an article in the Horseless Carriage Gazette about them. Maybe about 7-8 years ago. Locoman

My friend with the 2 Rainiers is out of town until after Jan 7th. He will take some pictures when he returns and I will post them then. Thanks for our patience. Locoman.

I made contact with my friend with the 2 Rainiers today. As far as he is concerned, there are only 2 remaining cars. He owns the Melton town car and the 1908 model D touring car. The Melton car is a 1906-07 model C. He has agreed to take some detail shots of the front axle area,rear-end assembly, and the rear springs to try and help identify the mystery chassis. Stay tuned. Locoman.

I have a friend who owns 2 Rainiers. I'll have him look at both of his cars and possibly take some pictures to see if that solves the mystery. Locoman.

Thanks to all that replied. I have no idea what the car is. I'm also guessing 1901-03 vintage. Picture was given to me by a historical society to help identify. Picture was taken in Beecher, Illinois. No idea who the people are. If anyone would like me to send them a copy by e-mail, just send me your address. Thanks for any help. Locoman.

Hi Chuck, Thanks for the "guess". It looks very similar to the Studebaker/Garford. I could e-mail the picture which comes through a little clearer to you if you like. The picture was taken in Cedar Lake IN. Thanks again, Locoman
