  1. Excellent website for vehicle color info. http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/default.aspx Correct as per color charts. Spring colors seem to be listed on the next years color chart. My 55 is Nile Green X over Cascade Black A. Nile Green was a Spring 55 color not listed on the 55 chart, but listed on the 56 chart.
  2. Never noticed this. Appears to be a small ground strap, top is connected to the heater box. Bottom is not attached but appears it will reach the trans fluid dipstick. What is it for, Where does it attach? Thanks Paul
  3. That is correct, just don't use em' to jack the car. Use a floor jack or bottle jack under the chassis.
  4. Ebay from time time you can find complete systems for sale. Or check with Southwest U.S. antique car parts yards. One such is Desert Valley Auto Parts. Probably easier to find an aftermarket, under dash unit.
  5. Give Rene a buzz to fix the radio. http://southtexasantiqueelectronics.com He did mine 5 years ago, still works perfect. Original tubes with discreet MP3 hookup. Not sure if he does antennas.
  6. Had the battery on charge and started car. I noticed the dash and dome lights were significantly brighter(especially dash lights). Pretty sure this is an aftermarket Voltage regulator. What is the condenser on the cutout terminal for? How can I get those nice bright lights all the time? Thanks
  7. I have been using Dex/Merc in my 55. It always leaked a bit. A few ounces added a year to top it off. I have noticed it is noticeably thinner and less red(pinkish) after a run on a hot day with A/C on. Been told this is normal. Especially since the 55 does not have a ATF separate cooler. Has anyone tried Valvoline High Milage ATF? I use their high milage motor oil.
  8. I think the answer lies in the condition of the engine. If you plan on doing 70 mph cruising frequently, I'd at least do a compression test. In the early/mid 70's my daily driver was a 54 Chrysler NY'er. I put 40,000 miles going back and forth NYC to New Hampshire, mostly at 60-70, a couple times north of 105(stupid kid stuff) never had a problem. These cars were driven at highway speeds in those days.
  9. Don't mean to scare you Jens, but a few years ago my diff. started with a "singing" noise when coming off the gas also. Turned out to be a very expensive song !
  10. Yup rattling from glove box. Will look into that. Bob... 灯泡可能
  11. The bulb in the glove box burns out after approx. 8-10 uses. It does appear to be a bit brighter that it should. It is the correct bulb and no other bulbs in car fail for years. Anyone else have this problem? Thinking of putting a resistor in the circuit. Not a big problem, just annoying. Thanks
  12. Anyone know if there will be vendor's in Allentown?
  13. Tryin' Again! Anyone know if there will be vendor's in Allentown?
  14. Last weekend, Best of Show award, Long Island Chapter, all Buick show.
  15. My 55 has a power antenna. The interior switch and base on the fender appear original. The unit itself I think is a replacement. I needed to fiddle with wiring but now it works well. They need to be exercised once in a while. If you want originality, check the parts book for interchange amongst makes. Otherwise use what you got and a newer motor.
  16. Pump jack oil. Several places rebuild them. Apple Hydraulics is one.
  17. They don't come around too often, that's why I noted it. I don't think there is any other replacement.
  18. Heads up.Just spotted on eBay. NOS light switch. I don't think a replacement is available. Kinda big money but they don't come up that often. eBay item number: 252379080870
  19. Chrome shop said the replate, on the rt/pass side lower rear 1/4 chrome trim panel, is not going well. Any leads on a replateable piece? Pic is of driver side,I need pass. side. Thanks Paul
