When the crankshaft pulley is going bad what effect does that have on the cars performance?

When I replace the crankshaft pulley is there anything else I should replace while doing this?

When looking down at my engine you can see that the crankshaft pulley is wobbling. Do these cars have a harmonic balancer? Do you think that the crankshaft pulley needs replaced or the harmonic balancer?

Can you put a supercharged 3800 Series II engine in a 88 Reatta? Do you need to also change transmissions?

I have a 1991 Olds with the same engine as my Reatta. It only has 70,000 miles. My Reatta has 134,000. My Olds seems to have double the power that my Reatta has. Is it because of the mileage difference?

I cannot open neither of the rear compartments, they aren't locked. When I put the key in it turns but they will not open. I didn't want to force them and break something. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I took the ICM and coil pak off of my 91 Oldsmobile and put it in my Reatta which has the same engine. They would be interchangeable..Right?

Thanks for the suggestion. I put a new ICM , coil pak , plugs and wires on it but that did no good. It will start but stalls right away. You can smell raw gas really strong. Thanks again....

How will I know if it is the correct motor and what series it is other than what he tells me. Also it is a complete engine ready to drop in.

I have a 88 Reatta. It has 135,500 miles. I am having some issues with it right now, anyway - there is a service garage close to my house that the owner is retiring. He is in the process of selling all of his equipment at this time. He has a new 3800 motor shipped from GM still in the crate. He wants $500 for it. My question is - he told me that he has had it there for 8 years. Never uncrated always inside the garage. Does the fact that it has been sitting 8 years going to have any effect on the motor?

And!!! When I took the plugs out 4 of them were gas soaked!

Also-- NO codes.

I changed the plugs and wires. Still bucking. So i changed the coil pack. Still bucks but not as bad. I could hear a noise that sounded like a loose chain slapping. I took of the belt and the noise is still there. Do you think it is the timing chain? Thanks for all the responses!

I got in my 88 Reatta after work tonight. When I started it, it shook so hard the dashboard was moving. It chugged a few feet then stalled. When I started it the second time the same thing happened. To me it seems like an extremly bad miss or something.But, I am not a mechanic! Can anyone give me any ideas where to start?Plugs? Wires? Or something more serious. Thanks to all for your help!

On E-Bay they are advertising a supercharger w/ air filter for $129.99. They claim it will increase horsepower 10 to 15%. looking for some comments about this. Thanks

On E-bay they have a ECM and a BCM for $49.99 each plus $20 shipping. Is this a good deal? What about buying parts like this off of E-bay? Recommend or not?

Hello, I changed the thermostat and flushed the system. It still reads hot 99% of the time. Also it tells me my windshield washer fluid , fuel , oil , etc., etc are all low and need to be checked. When in fact none of them are low. Do you think it is the cars computer that is bad or would it just be the monitor? thanks for all the previous fast responses to my questions!
