Hm, that's an idea! 😊
Figure out how to light it in the back window on the package tray like the low riders do their chrome gang...I mean club logos. You might start something.

I went with the TA for one simple reason. Bearing in the front rather than a brass bushing. Other than that, my research said the other aftermarket ones were about the same.

When I was a kid, our barber had a stack of these. If you sat in the chair and talked about a project you had been putting off, he would hand you one of these as you left. He said your excuse was now gone, as you now have a round tuit. My dad still has his stack, so I come by it naturally.

I'm truly inspired Dave! I had already been looking at the Sniper for my 65 - 401 but hadn't 100% committed. My carb was replaced with an Edelbrock by my Uncle a couple years ago and despite many attempts by "experts" to dial it in it would always revert back to running rich every couple of weeks which sucks when she is my daily driver. After seeing your post, I went hog wild with the Holley holiday sale and should have the Sniper EFI, Distributor and Ignition arriving in the next week or two.
The bracket I ordered was the GM Throttle adapter which I'm hoping will work without me breaking out the welder. (This is different from the one you originally listed as ordering): https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/carburetor_components/brackets_and_linkage/parts/1952
I'm curious why you went with the 4BBL (550-510) instead of the Quadrajet (550-867)? First glance it may be the 650hp (yours) vs 500hp (Quadrajet) but I'm really curious if there was any other motivation since mine isn't installed yet.
I was really teetering on getting the in-tank fuel pump but didn't want to get too deep into messing with the fuel system when I wasn't 100% sure on the Holley parts being compatible and/or the best fit for my 65. She is my daily driver and I don't want to get into something I haven't completely researched and risk her being down.
I drive like an old lady (at 39 y/o) in Southern California so I'm not too concerned about more power. Most of the time I'm on city streets or in traffic on the freeways. Kids will pull up at a light and rev their engine like they want to race and I just roll my eyes. Clearly they don't know how much premium fuel is these days! I remember back when I was 16 y/o leaving a car show in the 57 Thunderbird I restored and some teenage boys wanted me to light up the tires. My dad still laughs to this day at me hanging out the window shrieking "Do you know much these wide white wall tires cost?!?! Impressing you is not worth the wear on my tires!" If I want to race I take my car to the track. It's far too dangerous around here to fully enjoy the power our cars have on the city streets. I know I can handle driving the higher power but the idiots running around here driving far too fast diddling around with the phones they're not supposed to be using while driving will put me in the grave and my poor Riv in the junkyard. My Riv has made it 3 generations in my family and I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe in this crazy city we live in.
Really appreciate the help & Happy New Year!!
If you ordered the Quadra jet injection, you will have to send it back as it will not fit. Your stock intake takes the 4BBL Dave bought. Base mounting flange is different. Your manifold has a pattern for a Carter AFB, not a Quadra jet.

If you are thinking of bagging it later, get the RideTech shocks for the rear. Then you don't have to change. I have Shockwaves in the front, so a shock and air spring together, not separate. They may also sell a replacement lowered front shock. I don't remember and have not looked in a while.
OK, I looked. Link below. But $185 each.

It’s not the fact that the thread was edited. I half expected it and was surprised it didn’t happen earlier. It was the fact there was no note added to post one and two saying they were edited for content. Also the editor could have made their own post in this thread that the first two posts were edited for content. Or the entire post could have been removed from the board. But none of those things happened. Now we have a post that makes no sense because the main subject disappeared without explanation.
And what was discussed the most? The origin of her tattoo. And RivNut is correct, pretty tame by comparison.

Looks like we have been hacked...I mean edited.

$26,154 and Reserve NOT Met.

Zimm, if you are sure you have it phased right, take a paint marker and mark the two sections with witness marks on each half of the shaft. Just in case the shop decides to take it apart for any reason, they will know how to line it up correctly.
-
Welcome back. Those inlays in the doors came out nice.
-
"The side marker lights are not original for any 1st generation Riviera."
Correct, these are from a Chrysler product.

Definitely have 63-64 fenders on the 65. Hood has a 64 emblem on it, but the entire front sheet metal looks to have been changed.
-
Not a 63, R is on the bottom on a 63.

My curiosity is killing me. Star Wars was not released until 1977. President Reagan didn't use the term until 1983. What were these called between 1967 and 1977? And how did the Star Wars term for these become so universally accepted?

Didn't think this was real, but I like it.

Looks really good. Glad I could inspire you and get you started. But while the braces may be functional, you need to be sure they clear the light cover when it is reinstalled. The lower one will not, and the upper may not. You may have to move the lower brace behind the fender sheetmetal and use a flathead fastener. I am sure you know all this, just being Captain Obvious. Looks like a good start.

Thanks, Mike. This is Billet Art, and where mine came from. Ad is for a 65, but shows a 63 in the add for a 65. They have patterns for both. Mine fit without any issues.

I don’t want to rain on anybody’s parade, as they look terrific. But...RRB, if you are having these made, and selling them, have you checked into copyright laws? That Buick trishield is copyrighted. So is the Riviera R. GM gets really fussy about reproducing their parts with logos on them without expressed written permission. Sounds like an NFL ad, but it isn’t. GM can and will come in and take all stock and molds for these parts and have them destroyed. I’ve seen it happen. Even small quantities like this and only advertised here on the forum violates those copyright laws. Need to do some checking into this before you tool up and get a bunch of money tied into this.

If you depress the brake pedal with the engine off, hold it down and start the engine, all you have changed is the vacuum to the booster. I had this same problem. Fix the booster. Check valve is leaking/not holding vacuum.
-
Check valve in the booster is most likely bad. Get the booster rebuilt by Booster Dewey. If you search, somebody I think figured out where to get check valves, but this seems to be a closely guarded secret.
-
Not enough head room in my Riviera for this solution, as I am rather tall. But nice try.
-
Even if you work out how to use the smaller diameter hub on the front, you still have the rears to consider. You can change the complete rear end, change the axles, or machine the 63 axles to the smaller center hub diameter, but you have to address the rear as well if you are trying to use the smaller wheel centers.

One of my favorite shows on Motor Trend is Iron Resurrection. This guy seems to do it all; draw, fabricate, whatever. Also, there is a minimum of drama and bitching, which makes it more appealing to me. I would just like the story on the custom '64 Riv he has that is in the title credits and pops up in the show background all the time, yet no one discusses it or seems to drive it.
Saw this car at Good Guys in Ft Worth a few years ago. Took a few pictures that I don't have access to right now. Was not sure who it belonged to. I knew from watching some of the older biker build-off shows that Joe Martin had a 64, but it was white with primer spots then. Then Iron Resurrection comes out, and I see this great looking 64 and it all comes together. That was the Riviera I fell in love with at Good Guys. Owned by Joe Martin from Martin Bros Customs.

Schmiddy, the way I read this post, Gary is looking for the stainless trim. Does SMS have used stainless trim?
Gary, look up Gene on this forum at AB&G. He will have what you need.
