  1. Two more things I see. First, this looks like an ROA sticker on the drivers rear window. post-53315-143139146659_thumb.jpg At first I thought this was an AACA award badge, but now I don't think so. Not with this car. Any thoughts?

  2. ok, this might sound like a crazy thing to point out, but the photos don't appear to be in Scottsdale AZ. Arizona is sometimes intended to conjure images of a rust free car, but the setting looks like the midwest to me. So, I guess it is possible the car is in AZ, but it might be prudent for a buyer to determine just when it arrived. If the car spent the last 47 years in the midwest and just got to Arizona two weeks ago - well, that would be a different matter altogether.

Agreed, not Arizona pictures. But the camera date on the pictures is from the first part of this month. Just adds to the buyer beware part of this post. Looks to me like someone from Arizona bought this recently as a 65 GS without doing the research and is now trying to unload it on another unsuspecting buyer.

  3. A proportioning valve does just that, proportions the pressure needed front to rear. Both are discs, and if your car had a 50/50 front to rear weight ratio, you wouldn't need one. The rear is lighter, so takes less brake pressure for the rear brakes to lock. You are applying front pressure to the rear and rear pressure to the front.

  4. How much have you driven it? New springs will settle some as you drive the car. Are the springs seated well in the pockets? Front, rear, or both are different? Drive it, wait a couple of weeks and remeasure. And we need pictures. Before and after would be good, but will take any and all. We love pictures.

  5. Neat's foot oil is for leather. Find it a shoe or boot repair shop. More likely a saddlery. Not exactly on every corner, even in the wild west of OKC. I have an old bottle of Singer Sewing Machine Oil that I have had for years. Use two or three drops a year on various things like this. I would recommend something like that.

  6. Never owned either of these, but have wanted one of these for a while, so I have looked at a few. Ends are similar but different. post-53315-143139126766_thumb.jpg Would have to narrow it about 2" under each headlight on each side, and each end about 5" on the sides. Remove the shocks from the '73 bumper and make new mounts to bolt it back to the frame. Really a lot of work, but if I ever bought a 73, this is what I would have to do to it myself.

  7. I would like to give the person who told you that you were at an "important dealership" a time out. Yes, every dealership may be important and the world is full of these a%^ h@#*%. I'm glad you got it. Mitch

OK, Mitch, time to go get your glasses. He said IMPORT car dealership, not IMPORTANT car dealership. Definately not the same.

Lost Boy, good find. I'm glad you got it, too.

  8. ive got a set on my parts car-dont really want to get rid of them -dont know what ill do with hood-if you dont find anything in the next week or so ill get them to you.if you dont find any email me at tenugent54@yahoo.com roa#12969.

Thanks, but you need to keep these. I am looking for somebody with an extra set laying on the shelf taking up space. In fact, a member has sent a PM with just that. I will see if I can work a quick deal with him.

  9. Decided to run up to Cars and Coffee this morning with the Riviera. I was back in town on the right weekend for a change. On the way home, I guess I didn't have the hood latched properly and it decided to come up on the highway at about 60 mph. Eased it over and finally got the hood to close and latch, but the hood hinges are now junk. Left more than right, but want to replace both. Nobody hurt, no serious damage, just an overall bummer. So if anybody has an extra set of 63 hood hinges, I now need a set. Thanks in advance.

  10. Be sure to check with him before you send these off. I was ready to send mine to him a couple years ago. Emailed him for an address. Two days later he responds that he wasn't going to fix any more of these for several months. His ad is back in the Riview, and I haven't contacted him since, so he may be back.

  11. If you have no dash or radio lights (console at shifter?) the headlight swith is bad. I had all good lights except these. Had a bad spot in the switch. Replaced the switch and had all lights back.

  12. This will be the way in which I plan to route my exhaust because I can buy the mufflers and a lower price online and spread out the cost as I choose to, then have the muffler shop bend the pipes and instaal everything when I'm ready.

That's the way I did mine. Ordered the muffler from Summit after I talked to the exhaust guy. Told him what I wanted and how I wanted it done. He said, bring me your muffler and the car. No problem.

PS, welcome aboard to you and Ricky.
