  1. Certainly a different assortment. I too prefer earlier cars. Thought the HEALEY was nice!
  2. Let me look later today. I believe I have a pair. Will get a couple of pics.
  3. Studebaker closed its operations in South Bend in December 1963 and finally closed the Hamilton Ontario plant in March 1966. The South Bend Lathe Company was in its own facility on the South side of W Sample Street. It too was attempted to be revived through a LBO but ultimately failed. There were also other supporting businesses for Studebaker along this corridor. South Bend was a large manufacturing center in its heyday. Studebaker, Singer sewing machines, South Bend Lathe, Oliver Plow farm equipment, South Bend fishing lures and fly rods, and South Bend Toy to name a few.
  4. One I did in the 80’s. Body number was stamped with an X. Unlike the Suburban body with sliding rear windows, this truck had fixed glass windows. Original color was 40’s/50’s Bell Telephone green. Best I could determine at the time was that these fixed window bodies were a “Special Order” run for the phone company. Sold the truck in the early 90’s and it went to the Freeport, IL area to be a part of a DJ business. Wonder where it is today?!?!
  5. Congrats! Sorry I missed your arrival! Keep up the good work.
  6. Was at the Studebaker Museum today for over three hours and no sign of AJ & Tom! Not sure all cars were in but I had to leave. Hope all is well and no major issues! Did see one car come in on a roll back.
  7. Thank you for posting the pictures! Some very interesting items! If I were 40 years younger and 2000 miles closer, I would be there in a heartbeat!
  8. I would do two things. First move this question down to the Post War Buick section. Secondly go to Hometownbuick.com. You will be able to access a shop manual and should find the answer to your question.
  9. A couple would be Steele Rubber and Rubber the Right Way. Both have web sites. Also suggest you drop further down on this site to the Buick section and post on the Post War section. Lots of Buick eye balls there!!!!
  10. I suspect that the 52 Frame will not interchange with the 53 Frame. 53 56C frames are heavier (thicker) material than 53 56R as mentioned above.
  11. Thanks for the compliments! PM sent! Gaet
  12. Not to sidetrack from the original post but oddly enough, I sold a complete 52 Roadmaster front end to a guy in NY. Just confirmed with @retirednow that it was the same guy that bought his car! Crazy but small world!
  13. That’s too bad! Appears to have had GREAT possibilities as a project! Oh well, there’s another one out there on the plains somewhere! 😎😎
  14. That looks pretty solid! How are the floors and trunk floor. That has the 320 engine and should have a 4 bbl carb. Critical issue to look at is the exhaust manifold. It is three pieces from the factory (poor design) and the majority of the are cracked beyond repair! Would be a nice Mc Pherson class project to build a set of headers.😁 Hood is ROADMASTER only. Might be your next project! Mustache Bar and extensions look like they are not broken either!
  15. Try one of the LTL shippers like YRC, ABF, etc. They would have to be secured to a pallet. Always cheaper to go terminal to terminal.
  16. As an OLD IHC retiree, I would like to see pictures of your truck. Also if you drop down further on the AACA site there is an IHC section.
