  1. Not sure anyone is reproducing these. I have heard of ones needing repaired being repaired by radiator shops. Might have to consider and eternal “add on” cooler.
  2. Hi Al Just curious as to what has happed or is going to happen to the 53 engine. Is there anyway I can get the pulley? Thanks, Gary
  3. I have some nice 53 Super sheet metal left over from projects. Have a complete front clip, front bumper, heads, intake, heads, exhaust manifold, 4bbl Roadmaster carburetor, starter, generator, etc. let me know what you need . Can provide pictures. Also have nice polished 3X2 polished aluminum intake for a 322. Message we with needs. Parts located in 46615.
  4. Hood only fits special. Very few if any body parts interchange with Super and Roadmaster. Bodies are wider for starters. PS: Welcome to the forum. Lots of very knowledgeable folks here!
  5. Likely will be unable to find heavy 6 volt cables at local box stores or NAPA. You can have them made up possibly locally or order them from Bobs Automobilia, C.A.R.S. Buick parts or Fusick. I believe the recommended size is double ought (00). Make sure all connections are CLEAN!
  6. I have used Rubber the Right Way for several of my 57 needs. Very helpful and always happy with the product. As a side note I had an unfortunate credit card experience with Steele.
  7. You might check out a thread I started several years ago in the Modified Section entitled 1957 Buick Special Restomod Project. It details some of the modifications done to accommodate a 700R4 and 9” Ford type rear end. This was a very extensive, expensive and radical project. I need to update the thread at some point. Years later car is not totally done. I also have a 57 Special 46 R that is original and came equipped with the three speed synchromesh transmission. If I were you, I would fix the leaks and drive the heck out of it! Your car is very nice!!
  8. Al, so the engine has no harmonic ballencer! Does it just have the double pulley as picture shows? If so I would be interested in the pulley. Could possibly be interested in the whole engine. Is it stuck? Now anyone coming this way. Gary
  9. I have a complete 56 322 less starter/generator. No real knowledge of condition. Currently is stuck. Located in 46615.
  10. Sure would look nice sittin in the show room at Buick Gardens!!! Just sayin!! 😎
  11. I have had positive experiences with Rubber the Right Way.
  12. I was recently trying to track down a Healey Westland that I had owned in the 70’s just to see if it still existed. One of 60 + built and only 3 or 4 brought to the US. I was told that Fergus Motors was the importer. I did connect with an early Healey authority that might be able to help. He was very knowledgeable of Healey’s that had come through Fergus. I can connect you if you PM me. A picture of the Healey I once owned. Oh where oh where could it be?? Was sold to a gentleman in Naperville, IL.
  13. I don’t profess to be the expert but a couple of years ago I was working with a gentleman in Australia looking for a 53 Buick Skylark differential and it was pointed out to me that there was a change in early 53 to the carrier housing and gears. The housing pictured in this post is the later version carrier housing and I suspect it is a 3.6 to 1 ratio. As Ben indicated, it should be stamped on the bottom of the housing!
  14. FOR SALE: VERY NICE 2002 Pace American car hauler. Interior lined, cabinets and drawer storage in nose, escape door, interior lights, winch, two spare tires, e-track tie down and torsion suspension. 24’ X 8’ 6”. Stored inside when not in use. Located in South Bend, IN. SOLD PENDING PAYMENT
  15. For Sale: 1957 Buick (from a Special) Dynaflow Core. $125.00. Prefer pickup or you make shipping arrangements. Located in South Bend, IN. Been stored inside. Pictures available if interested. Thanks!
  16. Looking for a nice 63/65 Riviera passenger seat adjusting knob.
  17. Healey WESTLAND, Riley powered and one of 65? built and only 4 or 5 originally shipped to the US. Very rare car. Job transfer required selling this car and other Austin Healey’s in late 70’s. Car went to the Downers Grove area in Chicago. Wonder where it is today?
  18. Sorry, but I cannot provide further information other than what I already have indicated. The information I provided came from referencing my parts book. I’m not sure how you could actually verify other than to have parts to compare or a couple of cars side by side to compare. I have a 53 Super convertible that I could take pictures of and or some measurements but have nothing to compare it to other than a 52 Roadmaster 4 dr sedan rear fender that I have. Gary
  19. What is the purpose of removing? If they are “soft” add some light oil like motorcycle fork oil to them. Work them up and down a time or two and check oil level and add more oil if necessary. Can’t remember exactly the steps to actually remove the shock. First I would remove the linkage from the arm. Then the shock body unbolts to the frame. Writing from memory but believe this should be close to procedure for removal. Gary
  20. No. 53, one year only. Super and Roadmaster Riviera and convertible. 52 maybe a one year only also because of the trim piece that fits on the top of the fender. Otherwise suspect 51/52 would be interchangeable.
  21. Hoods are physically different size. Special’s have a narrower smaller body. Roadmasters have a longer hood due to the 320 CI engine.
  22. The FIBRE ones like the box above were probably late 40’s/early 50’s. Then came a plastic plaid weave and then the clear plastic variety. My parents disliked the clear plastic ones as they were difficult to install and the customers usually didn’t care for them as they were HOT to set on!
  23. You need to find a set of NOS seat covers like this. My parents owned a Western Auto Associate Store from 1947 to 1978. They sold and INSTALLED hundreds of these seat cover sets. Their store did not have a garage or shop so they installed them in the alley behind the store……..rain, sleet or snow!!! Small town USA sales and service!!! The seat covers sold by Western Auto were supplied by the Arthur Fulmer Company. Occasionally you see a set of these on eBay. A year or so ago there was a guy on the H.A.M.B. that had several sets for sale.
