@EmTee Ah, now I understand. The second screen wasn't obvious to me from the photo. Thanx for the clarification.
The stocking is the other option I'm considering. I first learned about it from one of your other threads on your '38. That might be my best option, at least as a first step. If it catches very little I'll have saved a few bux.

Finally fixed the overheating problem, now running just water without making steam. Will likely refill with Evaporust. Got a load of crap out of the engine with a magnet. In case anybody wants to do this here it is in pictures:
1- Remove radiator by removing bumper, headlamps, front valence and engine cowl.
2- Flushed radiator upside down with garden hose water. Most of what came out was blue-green pebbles that crumbled easily between fingers.
3- Circulated 10% vinegar for a day (regular home vinegar is 5%). Then circulated full strength CLR for a day.
4- A water transfer pump and inline filter pushed circulating fluids into bottom radiator hose and sucked it out from the top in a continuous loop. Not much stuff was trapped in the filter.
5- Clean out engine through the freeze plugs.
6- Removed a considerable amount of rusty debris with a magnetic pickup tool.
7- Magnet did not fit through front freeze plug hole.
8- A high pressure water spray flushed the engine through the freeze plug holes, extracting more crap.
9- A picture of most of the stuff extracted from the engine with a magnetic pickup.
10- Clear Gano filter in the top return hose makes trapped circulating particles visible.
11- The leather fan belt failed on reassembly. A new belt is maybe two weeks on order. I happened to be wearing a 2 inch Timberline leather belt that was the same width of the failed fan belt. So punched holes with an awl and stitched it in a loop with size 210D heavy upholstery thread.
12- Fashionable hand stitched fan belt, formerly around my waist, spins the fan faster than before. I suspect the old belt was slipping and contributed to the overheating problem.
Nice work, and thanx for the writeup. The Gano filter is a great idea that I'm considering for my own car, but how would you be able to remove the crud it traps? The filter will surely do its job to keep junk out of your radiator, but with your upper radiator hose at such a steep angle it seems to me that much of what it catches would drop back into the engine after its shuts off.

I did. apparently there were two styles of bird when these wheels were offered, a "fat bird" and the thin version shown in your photo. Based on information from vendors it appears that the fat version was offered in 1965 and the thin one in '66. I chose to go with the fat one because I prefer that style.

@Barney Eaton No one specifically mentioned the bolt pattern, but I knew that my car uses the 4-3/4" bolt pattern. @Loren@65GS.com's rallye wheel chart had all of the specs for the OEM GM wheels so I was able to determine what would work. It's all good.

I'm searching sources of center caps now. I found a few so far, I just need to select one.

@60FlatTop Ah, now I get it. I sense some wisdom behind your comment. Fortunately for me I'm not at all impulsive when it comes to buying things, but I'm quite the opposite when it comes to selling stuff. Seller's remorse is a chronic condition I suffer from. I'm not sure why I'd want to keep the wheels, but perhaps I'll hold onto them for awhile if I can find a place to store them.

Just got a set of GS wheels on my Skylark. Looking to launch the original steel wheels: 14" Steel Wheels from 1964 Skylark. Come get 'em.

Just replaced these with chrome wheels on my 1964 Skylark. They have a 4-3/4" bolt pattern with 4" back space. Don't need 'em, don't want 'em, and not gonna store 'em. Free for the taking.

I agree with you on two out of three of your points. First. I, too love the picture. It's the subject of the picture that I dislike. Second, I agree that you're entitled to your opinion, but so are others. We part ways on the issue of harassment. I don't consider the voicing of contrary opinions "harassment" (although I should probably know better living here in the Northeast).

I never thought that NJ bureaucrats would do anything to make any aspect of life easier, but inspection is no longer required for gasoline-powered passenger vehicles older than the 1995 model year. Been that way for more than a few years now. I hope that no one in Trenton reads this and realizes their oversight.

Welcome to the forum with your beautiful car. Many US states have an "open container" law, meaning it's OK to have liquor in the car as long as the seal isn't broken.
I visited your delightful country in January 1988. You may have guessed that it was for business, as Sweden probably doesn't get many tourists in January. I stayed at the Sergel Plaza in Gamla Stan, and enjoyed a particularly pleasant experience dining in Fem Små Hus. I've always wanted to return, but I'm not sure I'll get the chance.
Looking forward to learning more about your Riviera.

I don't know what any of that stuff is (Poke bowl, mango milk tea, or musubi). I do recognize the words bowl, milk, tea, and Spam, but their preceding adjectives caught me off guard. "I don't think we're in New Jersey anymore, Toto." 🤔
