what is the right toe-in adjustment? one book says 3/16" and no greater than 3/8", and one book says 2 1/16". what do you guys think is right?

trying to get my front end right on the 24` touring car. replaced the kingpins and tightened up all the loose ends. now the front end is tight. the wheels appeared to be towed out and the car was still vibrating at higher speeds. one of the books i have says tow-in should be 3/16 and no greater than 3/8. but the other book says it should be 2 1/16. what do you guys think is right? thanks jim.

anyone have input on what coil should be used when i bypass the original coil? thanks jim.
