    Pickup Canopy

Anyone have any information on these canopys? I found this page in "The Ford Model A "as Henry made it" book. "Some time in 1931, a canopy top was introduced. The canopy was 46 inches above the floor and featured a long-short grain fabric top and side curtains. This canopy was modified when the large box was introduced." Thanks for your time. Steve
  3. The Model A Ford Mechanics Handbook Vol. II by Les Andrews has a section "installing hydraulic brakes". It covers alot and will give you some insite on what your getting into. "It aint simple". It looks like Sacramento Vintage Ford has what you need new but it isn't cheep. I'd take a hard look at rebuilding what you have first. Good luck
  4. Sometimes when your repairing or rebuilding a part on an unrestored car you want to paint it for protection but you don’t want it to be shinny and stick out. Does anyone know how to flatten or take the shine out of gloss paint. I know you can buy flat paint but it’s hard to get some colors and you may have the color you want in gloss sitting on the shelf. I’ve heard freezing will do it? I guess 600 paper would do it but that can be a tough road. Any thoughts? Thanks for your time.
  5. Thanks every one. I'll give Al a call Steve
  6. The key for my Model A has most of the ridges worn off (100800 miles). It still works but it will not stay in the switch. I'm afraid it might fall out and I'll lose it. The key number is A1480. I am looking for someone that may have this key and be willing to make a duplicate for me. I will be more than willing to pay for any cost. That not happening does anyone know of someone that works on these that can take them apart and re-key them to a new key or have info on how to do it. Thank You for your time Steve
  7. I was thinkig stone guard like 54 and earlier Chevy's, but it isn't rounded enough for that. Thank you for the help. I'll keep my eyes open at the shows. Have a nce day. Steve
  8. This piece has 4 threaded studs on the back for attachment. They are 3 inchs apart on the what I would call the bottom, 5 7/8 on the top and 10 1/8 apart top to bottom. There's a number that's hard to read on the back but it looks like RE5 22 1964 or maybe RE5 22 1904. The numbers may not be right but I'm sure of the 22. Help I'm batting zero on identifing parts so far maybe this one will be a home run. Thanks for looking.
  9. I have pair of these that have never been used. Can anyone tell what they are for. They have the attached piece that I assume goes between the body and the fender. Help
