  1. Sorry for the delay in posting more photos of the 1949 Frazer hardtop but I thought it best to wait until I knew how to work the new Photopost program. If anyone is still interested, there is a series of snapshots I have entered in the AACA Photo Gallery which I hope viewers will find entertaining. The keyword is ' frazer '. It involves the debut of the hardtop at a well attended auto meet in Massachusetts.

    1. The auto show at Endicott was an amazing experience. You are viewing one of the rare moments at the beginning of the show when I enjoyed a solo moment preparing the car for display.

    7. Many were interested in what powered the Frazer. Its engine compartment revealed a modest six cylinder and a few accessories common to the luxury car trade of the day.

    8. Vacuum pumps were very 'fashionable'. One operated the wipers ; the other, the automatic window lift apparatus which was controlled by a circular chrome button on the door panel reflecting a wrap-around dashboard.

    9. The styling influence of the Cadillac is particularly noted in the treatment of the Frazer grille. Its interior boasted of quality materials such as genuine leather upholstery.

    I am unaware of the model letter identifying the convertible but I believe it was called the Victoria. Was it the Raymond Lowey Studios that stylized it with the motorcycle fenders on the front clip?

    A Hupmobile sedan may have been priced well above the well known Fords, Chevys, and Plymouths, but it was worth the cost for its quality and durability. In 1932 a Hupmobile won 5th place in the infamous Indianapolis 500.

    This Aero series was a bold step for an independent company to take during the depression era. It marks the beginning efforts of streamling automobiles with the aerodynamic movement of the era. The question mark is placed after the 'T' because of the uncertainty of its correctness as the different models were distinguished alphabetically.

    This model took on a more conventional appearance for those prospective customers who might desire a more conversative model than the advance design of Aero series.

    I believe this model used the same body as the Ford of that year. It was a seperate series from the Aero models.

    I will admit the letters used to signify each Hupp model is still a confusing matter to me. If this is not a Model A, feel free to enlighten me as to the appropriate identification.

    The rear deck on this 1935 model is straight back. Exactly when they offered an extended trunk as shown on both 1936 models is unknown to me.

    The 618 is in parenthesis because of the uncertainty of what it means. There were no 1937 Hupmpbiles to the best of my knowledge unless they reserialed the 1936 models.

    Many consider this automobile the last true Hupmobile design because the succeeding models were Cord based conversions.
