  1. Haggerty advised they would only insure a Reatta if it was worth at least 15,000.00. J.C. Taylor declined coverage because drivers in the household cannot have as their daily-driver a vehicle older than 10-years of age. It would be nice if J.C. Taylor mentioned that little tid-bit in their application package as it was a waste of time to gather the information to complete and submit their application with pictures, payment, etc. Any other companies insuring classic cars other than Taylor and Haggerty?

  3. The current production 2057LL bulbs made by Sylvania do NOT fit, the glass on the Sylvania bulb flares too much above the metal base to fit the Reatta socket. PHYLIPS 2057 bulbs (stocked by K-Mart), DO fit.
  4. I had to replace a window motor a few months ago and the new motor will close the window about 3 seconds faster than the old motor. Not so much faster that it motivates me to change the old motor... ;-)
  5. I had asked the same question previously and I am VERY happy with the advice to purchase the Kumho Ecsta ASX 225/60VR15. These tires are very quiet and have incredible grip in dry, wet and snow conditions. It is too early to attest to how many miles they will go, but frankly, with the performance they provide, that is a secondary factor. Are there better tires? Probably, but I doubt you will find one in the $300.00 (tire, tax, balance) for a set of four price range. I am sounding like a salesperson. ;-)

  7. For those that were not lurking previously, the article referenced in the thread above is worth waiting the minute or two to download and comment on.
  8. Steak, Did you get all 4-brakes working ? Hopefully, when you get it all sorted-out, you will give us a Readers Digest version of what to do and not do for those who wish to give it a try.

    Port holes

In case anybody wants to read about the history of Buick portholes, there is a nice article here

  13. I am considering installing an aftermarket sunroof. My question is, can I install a unit that is about 1.5" wider than the OEM unit without damaging whatever support structure is in the roof or should I stay with a unit no larger than the OEM unit?

    Port holes

I am going to have to look around more closely at cars here in Michigan, I haven't noticed anyone using them. Or at least I only recollect seeing them on Buicks...
  15. I am 6'1" with no sunroof and I must tilt seat or my semi-bald head will hit the headliner. I lost a little headroom when I recently installed 16-way seats. :-/ I have contemplated having some of the seat foam removed--anybody know the thickness of the stock foam? I was wondering if headroom would be gained by installing a simple non-OEM sunroof like this one. Any ideas?
