  1. I got to slip off to the Chickasha Ok pre-war swap meet for a couple of hours today. I scored some headlight bezels for the '37 sedan. One appears to be new old stock and the other is nice and straght, but pretty scratched up and brush painted. 65.00 for the pair. Quite a nice buy I thought. Now I need to come up with some nice used lenses.

I think that is one of the three hardest to find parts for the '37 (the others being the radiator pan and an unbroken grill trim piece). I've sent you a Paypal. I'm sure you'll do well selling them. </div></div> I think I've got a radiator pan in my goody pile, are they that hard to find?
  3. I forgot to add the part number, that might tell you which side is fits. 26-H-13044-5 I have no idea of its worth, make me an offer. I'd just as soon swap it for something else lincoln related .
  4. There is a pretty big chip on the back of the lens, but the little band still seems to be tight
  5. It's the thrill of the hunt! now if I could just find some 10.00 headlight lenses...
  6. I slipped off early from work on friday and spent a couple of hours browsing at the Chickasha (OK) swapmeet. I found this tail light lense on a table full of misc. lenses and such. I paid the guy three dollers for it. He said "now that you bought it tell me what it fits" I said well it looks like it ought to fit a '37 lincoln. It's got some chips on it but it sure made the trip worthwhile.
  7. I've come to realize over the last few months that I just don't have the resources to do the old Zephyr justice. If anyone has an interest in it I would be happy to hear from you. I have priced it to a coupe of folks recently but priced it too high, I think. It's a great old car, but needs total restoration. Complete for the most part. No motor, no headlight trim. Car has been professionally sandblasted and has been sprayed with etch primer I also have a parts car that goes with it. I'm about an hour east of OKC if anyone local would like too take a look at it, or just visit and drink some ice tea. Ron
  8. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Fortunately, the tranny internals are exactly the same as a Ford, so you shouldn't have any problems with getting parts for the rebuild. You'll also find that rear axle seals, bearings, etc. are primarily Ford parts. The Columbia rear end is a nice option. Is it the version that has a speedo cable that goes all the way back to the rear axle? If you haven't already done so, you should get a copy of the chassis manual for a 1937 Zephyr, you'll find it invaluable. Check the vendors listed on this site. </div></div> It looks like the speedometer drive gear is right behind the trans on the torque tube. It's gone, but that looks like where it use to be. Sorry it took so long to answer the question CBoz.
  9. I got the filler neck removed this evening. A few days of soaking with kroil and a spanner wrench. No problem. I really expected it to put up more of a battle! Thank you all for your input.Ron
  10. I bought one today at J&E supply in OKC. Very similar to that, except that the head has a hinge to accommodate different sizes.
  11. Thanks for the information peter. I will keep hosing it down with kroil this week and try to get my hands on a spanner wrench. A strap wrench may work well also without damaging the filler neck. And the stillson as a last resort!
  12. I will probabley go with the repro lense when the time comes. Unless I run across a bargain at a swapmeet one of these days. That's not likely though. I guess I need to put a list of extra parts together and think about doing some horse tradin for some stuff that I need.
  13. Sounds like reproduction lenses are available, that will help. I need to chase down some headlight bezels and lenses one of these days. It will be a while before I really need them though. It's gonna be a couple of years before I'm ready to turn the lights on!
