  1. Valvoline 10W30 racing oil (ZDDP is part of the mix.).
  2. It starts well before service. In 2001, I wanted to buy a 2002 GMC Truck. I worked for a supplier to GM, so I was entitled to a "supplier discount." I went to Duplessis Pontiac-GMC on the way to work with a print out from the GMC website where I "built" the truck. I wanted the drive it off of the lot price. After being passed around from manager to manager, I was told "That price comes out of Flint, and we can't get it." OK, so I went to Capitol GMC a few days later and spoke to the sales manager for the same thing. Twenty minutes later, I had the price. The older I get, the less patience I have for the ol' run around and the BS it encompasses.
  3. Another thing I like about this is it would eliminate a good deal of the rumor factor associated with finding a service. For example, I heard that "someone" (Who is "someone" or their brother, "somebody?") is rebuilding cast aluminum brake drums by replacing the steel liner. True or not? I don't know, but I've found no reference to confirm or deny it.
  4. Derek, glad I could help. My baby...
  5. If the ports in the piston aren't clear, they wouldn't let the fluid flow back into the master cylinder, causing the brakes to lock. I also thought about the rubber hoses as Pete did. Front hoses for my Wildcat were $11.00 at NAPA.
  6. Derek, Bill, AKA "Topcat," is a great guy to deal with and has oodles of Buick parts. BTW, you qualify for the WOT, Wildcat Owner's Team. I believe Mitch Romanowski has proper repro caps and does have lug nuts for those rims. He advertises in the Bugle.
  7. I like this idea a lot. As a suggestion, why not expand it to cover all Buicks, broken into pre war and post war sections.
  8. I'm looking for one of these heater hose holders for my 64 Wildcat. Thanks in advance!
  9. They turn up on eBay from time to time, but I bought two on Amazon.com for about $20. The thread is the same. I think GM used the same dash pot for 90% of their cars from '60 to '77 or so.
  10. Joe, so you're speaking of Dexron III? The chassis manual for my '64 Wildcat recommends "Type A" for the ST 400.
  11. That's a beautiful car! Was that a '64 Wildcat I saw in one of the last pics?
  12. Thanks, John & Paul. You should see the looks I get zipping past a BMW or Mustang on the interstate! If the sight of 4,300 pounds of real car doesn't get'em to move over, the four note horn does! The hitch was an after market add-on, now off of the car. One more...
  13. Why did I join the BCA? There's a hundred reasons. The first car I rode in was a '55 Super. I learned to drive in a '64 Wildcat. The second car I bought was a '70 LeSabre. Every other car on the road pales in comparison to a Buick, in my humble opinion. Now I've got a numbers matching, KX code '64 Wildcat that I'm having a ball with! That's why I joined the BCA.
  14. A great job being done on this rare car. My hat's off to ya'll!
