  1. Very nice but need a lot more information. Craigslist should have a tutorial on how to sell a car...
  2. Great looking car, looks like it will clean up well. What are your plans?
  3. These are magnificent cars. One of my favorite features is the two-level running board.
  4. Regarding the hood problem, I had a similar issue on the 34 Packard. I found out there were two rubber bumpers on the rear of each hood side that supported the open hood and used friction to keep it from slipping and falling. All of these were completely gone! I found replacements at Steele Rubber and the hood stayed put when it was open.
  5. Yes the price is ridiculous, yes the paint is not original (look at the trunk photo). yes the interior looks tired, but NO, it is not as solid as described. The rust bumps under the vinyl top stick out even in distant pics.
  6. A few more pics. I got a little carried away with the red and silver paint...
  7. Three of the four prewar cars I have owned had blackwalls through no choice of my own, but I liked it that way. Blackwalls gave the 28 Pierce and 34 Packard a bit of an outlaw vibe and it was just correct on the 34 Chevy. But when it came to the 32 Cadillac I bought 6 new wide whites in the Firestone style pictured in the shop manual. As far as I know they were standard on that car. More recently I replaced the tires on my 60 Buick and they also just HAD to be whitewalls - updated closer to the original size. Some cars demand whitewalls!
  8. Back in the mid 60s the first "Funny Cars" were the A/FX match race cars with altered wheelbase mods. Living near Chicago I was a big fan of Mr. Norm's Grand Spalding Dodge which made their name selling muscle cars and raced their own A/FX. I started with, I think, an AMT kit and sliced and diced. Raised suspension, injected hemi, giant headers, roll bar, piecrust slicks and even a parachute!
  9. I had a pair of Magstars on my first car back in the 60s, they were 14" with chrome rims. I remember paying extra for tire mounting because of the aluminum centers.
  10. Looks like a great project, I have always liked these and the Ford versions. Can't wait to see what it looks like after a good pressure wash!
  11. Originally nickel plated diecast, Walt is right about the dangers of trying to replate. It is easy to disassemble and detail polish if you want to.
  12. I know that others were making and selling this type of modern filter conversion after Burr passed, but cannot remember who.
  13. X2 on this. His name is Dave Czirr and his car is an amazing all original 1100 like the one I had only much nicer. I remember my Ripley filter came with two modified filter inserts, I never used the second one and it went to the new owner when I sold the car.
  14. Clark's quality is great, you won't be disappointed. I used their stuff on my 63 many years ago. Tip - if you are going to try it yourself buy professional quality tools for the hog ring installation. I did not do this and permanently damaged my right thumb. You may also want to hire an upholstery professional to install the kit - I had to wind up doing that and the work was top notch for reasonable cost.
  15. Here is a 4-way bucket seat track from a 1963 Olds Starfire, looks the same.
  16. Put a junkyard LS drivetrain in and clean it up for a very cheap and fun beater with great style!
  17. You are lucky to have photos of so many. One of my biggest regrets is that I did not take or save photos of all my early cars.
