  1. I used Phantom Auto Works in Salem OH and they did an absolutely outstanding job !!!!!
  2. This is one extremely rare part to find. Bidding should be interesting. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1957-Packard-Station-Wagon-Emblem-Studebaker_W0QQitemZ270293422740QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item270293422740&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A727%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
  3. Being that these parts are tough to find, I thought that I would post this ad that was in our local Studebaker newsletter. The info is very fresh. The ad is posted in our recent October/November 2008 newsletter. For Sale: Rare 1932/33 Rockne front fenders with spare wheel wells. 1932/33 Rockne hood. Contact David Pelnar at 920-609-5948 or djpelnar@yahoo.com Who knows, maybe he has other parts too. Best of luck in your restoration.
  4. This looks to be the auction of all auctions !!!!!! I will need to win the lottery before I go to this one. http://www.midwestauctions.com/maring/maring_september_27.htm
  5. Is anyone able to post pics of the cars that were attending this show? Please.........
  6. Were there any 57 or 58 Packard cars or parts at this meet? if so, are there any pics of the cars? Would greatly appreciate seeing these cars. Thank you
  7. No surpise to me. I will attempt to say this as nice as possible, but if you want to know the truth....... I went to South Bend last year and found some pretty good deals on Packard parts. I will say though I was not received to well because I didn't have a "true" Packard. I had full intentions in giving the Packard Club one more try, but then I found out that there was a Studebaker meet in Minneapolis the same weekend. For as well as I was received from the Studebaker group in South Bend and for as friendly as they were, I opted to drive a few extra hours and am going to Minnesota. Amazing that a 40 year old who loves Packards and Packardbakers can be treated so well by one group and snubbed by another in the same place, at the same time. If you want to draw interest in your marque, one might try being more receptive and welcoming.
  8. Out of all of the 58 Packards that I own, this is the only model that I do not have. I hope to one day. It seems the longer I wait the more expensive they get. I will continue to keep my eyes out for a deal.
  9. You should take a look at their website and forum. www.packardhawk.com I am sure they have a registry going.
  10. I would give Christof Kheim a call. He has a ton of the older Studebaker stuff. If he does not have it, I am sure that he could send you in the right direction of someone who might have the part. This is his site. Take care http://stores.ebay.com/Rocky-Mountain-Studebaker
  11. I use Schenker Logistics. Be sure not to use an open top container. Make every attempt on valuable cars to go lower deck and make sure you block the wheels once the car is in the container.
  12. Very interesting how the side windows overlap. I have never seen anything like it. This is a feat of engineering.
  13. I went to a Studebaker International meet in Omaha two years ago and had the opportunity to talk to the engineer who worked under Raymond Lowey in creating the 53 Lowey Coupe. After Studebaker he joined up with GM and work on Buicks. Adventually he created the Olds Tornodo. He had a ton of stories and one was on the talent coming out of McPherson. He stated that with each of the individual's work that he had seen it was at least three steps ahead of everyone else. He rated the school as top notch. Best of luck.
  14. Looks like a very interesting collection up for auction.....including an original Hudson motor still in the crate. Take care http://hinsonauction.com/auction_04_26_08.html
  15. I can finally help someone on this forum. I have a number of Studebakers and Packards (those built by Studebaker). For general parts call Christof Kheim with Rocky Mountain Studebaker in Boulder CO. He is great to work with and knows a ton. Many times if he does not have it, he can send you in the right direction. Second on my list would be SASCO in South Bend, IN. Third vendor would be Studebaker Int'l in IN. For interiors I would only go to Phantom Auto Works in Salem OH. Here are the links. Best of luck and take care http://stores.ebay.com/Rocky-Mountain-Studebaker http://www.studeparts.com/ http://www.phantomstudebakers.com/ http://www.studebaker-intl.com/
  16. Do you have any 58 Packard Station Wagons? What do you have for Studebakers? Please advise. thx
  17. I have a 24 foot enclosed Wells Cargo and it weighs 3200 lbs. I went to the dump and they weighed me for free. I like the suggestion on calling the MFG. With you model or serial # they should be able to tell you immedately. Take care
  18. Try Jim at Wisconsin Studebaker. He is a great guy to deal with, fair on prices....and he has a ton of stuff. His email is jbwistude@wwt.net
  19. 1958 Packard Station Wagon emblem. This emblem goes on the tailgate on top of the light for the license plate. This part is even rarer then the cars themselves. Please check out this ebay listing. The last two on ebay have sold for over $500.00 This should be an interesting item to watch. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1958-Pack...1QQcmdZViewItem
  20. I bought a nos gauge cluster and tach for my Studebaker project. I can not find an nos speedometer (160 mph) for this car. I found a slightly used one with 47,000 on it and while it looks ok, it does not look as nice as the gauge cluster and tach. No surprise there. I would like to send off all three and have the speedo face restored to match the other two which are perfect. Also while they have it open they can recalibrate it and give it a lube. Any suggestions on a <span style="font-weight: bold">top notch </span>place that can do an <span style="font-weight: bold">outstanding job </span>on refacing a speedometer? Please advise. Thank you
  21. In tribute to both clubs, I will be driving my 58 Packard Sedan. This will be an extremely large car show. I hope they are doing a parade this year. They usually do when they are in South Bend (speaking from the Studebaker side). If anyone has 57 or 58 Packard parts (especially your 58 Packard Wagon parts), now would be the time to bring them to sell. You will have the full attention of a lot of Studebaker people. Hope to see you there, safe travels.
