  1. Padgett you may want to look at this a bit closer for Autry. I have never seen his issue and will try explaining it to you as I understand it. He has a 1991 Riviera. What happens is he will be driving along when all of a sudden the blocks that show the cars temperature "disappear" leaving only the temperature lines on the IPC. All other gauges continue to read as they should. At this point the car goes into "cripple" mode and the AC gets turned off. He has also noticed a "clicking" noise behind the glove compartment which I believe is the ECM making adjustments to the vents. Is there a test he can run or is there something wrong with the ECM?
  2. There is no brain in the IPC. It just reflects what the ECM [Electronic Control Module] or BCM [Body Control Module] tells it. I would look at one or the other [ECM/BCM] as going bad. I have never heard of this issue before. Methinks you should head back to the Reatta forum and ask Padgett
  3. I've had sales jobs where they wanted to call meetings and then wonder while I was in the office and not out making calls. I am now a one man band selling health insurance and Medicare products and also avoid the unkowledgeable but arrogant client that usually turns out to be trouble...
  4. Okay I went back and looked at the post by Zephyr that had a picture of the IPC [Instrument Panel Cluster]. There are "lines" as stated by Jim Skelly and what I will call "Blocks" which are an indication of the actual temperature. If it is the "lines" [which are an indication of temperature] that are gone that is interesting, as to why they disappear and not the 'lines" on the other gauges. However if the "blocks" are at just the top you are running a good temperature. You could go one maybe two "blocks" past the top but no further. Going two "blocks" past the top would indicate to me that you have a mechanical issue that needs to be looked at. One other thought regarding the "lines" missing. The IPC is only a reflection [RPM, Speed, Water temp, Oil Pressure, etc.] of what the computers tell it. It does not tell the "lines" to illuminate. Their failure to illuminate in my opinion is more an indication of a failure of some sorts with your IPC.
  5. Still not sure what you are asking, but if the air conditioner is on both fans [puller and pusher] on the radiator will run so that part sounds good. The car is designed to run with [I believe] between 190-210 with a 205 degree thermostat. I installed a 185 degree thermostat with a wiring modification for my fans to run all the time and on high [I do this to keep my car running cooler]. So if you are not overheating you are probably good. Still not sure what you mean by "lines" and can't check it on my car as my 1990 is 1600 miles away in Texas. If you are concerned about what your temperature is maybe install a water temperature gauge with a remote mount.
  6. The early Reattas/Rivs have bullet proof Instrument clusters, but yes not so much the touch screen. The later Rivs/Reattas Instrument cluster is a weak spot and yes rebuilt ones are available. He can find venders on the top of the Reatta page. The temperature display is an easy fix as they also don't go bad and just need to be cleaned. There are explicit instructions on the "Reatta Owners Journal" website. There is a tab on the top of the page and will open all sorts of "How to" and instructions on removal and reinstall of most components including the temperature control display and Instrument Cluster.
  7. To his credit he did a search. One of his searches was 15 comments the other 47 and most offering good advice and how to. He has not commented on what his attempts were but has now moved to a different place on the forum and asked again. There was an attempt to help and I suggest that before you do a blanket statement that we are all here to help [we are] please read what he read to know that the information he needed was there.
  8. Don't waste your time. He was down on the Reatta site asks the same no information questions and only wants answers and doesn't appear to want to learn.
  9. My wife [fiance at the time] had a Plymouth Arrow. Fun little car that gave great gas mileage.
  10. Well there are exceptions...
  11. About 13 years ago I did a "buy" of some of the dash inverters the company had for sale. I did contact them years later and was told they were destroyed. I'm sure Jim Finn has some available. I have 2 or 3 but have decided to hold on all my parts as I am trying to keep 3 Reattas on the road...
  12. Yeah, call Jim Finn and get the correct one for a fair price.
  13. I don't have a Riv so have no skin in the game. You have the opportunity to buy everything you need ready to go for $800.00 delivered. I wouldn't pass it up...
  14. I bought this same tool box, used, about 3 years ago. Just don't have the picture. I like it a lot.
  15. When I was 12 or so I got a paper route and saved up and bought the Sears 100 plus socket/tool set in a gray tool box with a tray. Still have it today. My dad's comment [to my mom but not me] was that I now had more tools then he did. That was true as he only had some screwdrivers, pliers and a vise grips. So when he needed something, he borrowed from me...
  16. I'm pretty sure it is a low cost Reatta. Look at that dent [very expensive repair] the antenna up [probably means not working] and missing wheel hub covers. Just guessing but i'll bet there are headlight issues as well. Should have got it for less then $2000.00
  17. I am betting on the ignition module under the coils or the Crank sensor especially because now it won't start.
  18. With the increase in Co Vid are we required to wear masks? The registration form says this is a mask event has that been changed or still in force?
  19. Years ago F47 had a seat in his Reatta. I think he only did it for appearances but I remember him doing it. He also used a 6 way seat as his desk chair.
  20. Is it still a face mask event? [Said so on the registration form].
  21. If I come I'm just driving down for the day. Can I just show up with my car without registering my car?
  22. Long time no see. Do you still have that steering wheel?
  23. Hopefully you will get a quart of trans fluid and keep it around and add when needed.
