  1. I would buy and install a Tefba inline filter in the top hose to catch all the loose particles in the system too. Available in the US from www.tefba.com or google it. You can see mine in this picture: http://www.mako.com.au/buick/65Riviera/pages/0138.htm
  2. Does anyone have any ideas to increase the volume of air going to the windshield? Mine is very weak. Thanks
  3. A couple of years ago I decided to go to a single 800cfm Quadrajet on my Gran Sport because I thought the Dual Quads were too thirsty. It turned out to be a vacuum leak so they're back on the car now but I ran the Qjet for about a year and it was great. It was a mid 70's 800cfm carb which you can pick up cheap in the US refurbished. I even modified the dual quad air cleaner to fit the single carb for a stock GS look. Interested in selling that, should you be interested. You need a 66 spreadbore manifold to fit the modified factory GS air cleaner. If you use a squarebore intake you will need an adaptor which lifts the carbie too high to fit the stock air cleaner and close the hood. During the period where I did use a squarebore intake I used a sports air cleaner with a drop base which worked.
  4. I had the same noisy issue with a HD one so swapped for this one which is quiet and a good fit. HAYDEN 2705
  5. Wow Steve, that's really sound advice. You make it easy to understand.
  6. Since I was last on this post a front kit that fits standard 15" rims is now available. I have put all the information up on our website and look forward to any questions. click here to visit web page
  7. Thanks Paul. The listing on eBay is not compatible with 71 Riv but I've emailed them to asked if they can build a 15:1 for me.
  8. Sorry, the name of the guy didn't show up. James Bradley, High Performance Steering 253 218 8798
  9. Hi guys, I bought a couple of steering boxes a few years ago from this guy and wondering if anyone knows if he's still in business. His email bounces and I haven't had any luck calling him yet. Failing that, if you know someone that can help with a 15:1 steering box for a 71 and 67, please let me know. Have tried the two in the Riview, the small ad is a waste of time trying to sell me AT&T services and sounds like a scam and Lares Corp haven't answered any of the questions I've asked.
  10. Thanks Jason. Yeah, we love our Rivs and look forward to getting together and particularly driving them. The next ROA Meet down here will be in Adelaide, South Australia in October 2019. Save the dates and start making plans. You're all invited.
  11. It was a pleasure to have Gordon and Susan at our ROA Meet Downunder. All of you are most welcome to attend any meets in the future. Here is a link to Pictures of the weekend: https://www.flickr.com/photos/27985556@N08/sets/72157681012413572 ENJOY!
  12. In my 65 I've got a RetroSound Radio and their Dual Voice Coil stereo speakers made in two sizes to fit in the dash and between the rear seats. These are the original radio's crucial measurements. See the range here:https://www.retromanufacturing.com/
  13. As far as the vent goes, I got the broken piece out with a 1/4" tap quite easily. Mine was mild steel and not plastic. Then cleaned the surfaces and silver soldered it together again. Not blocked so that wasn't the problem. Will replace the bearing seals and maybe take out the center for the silicone treatment.
  14. Thanks for your replies guys. I like the silicone idea and will see if I can get the same here. So drive shaft off, the axles have to come out to do this job right? I have a manual and can look it up.
  15. After highway driving I have oil leaking around the diff bolts and mating surface and also out of the LH bearing seal. I'm thinking pressure build up but the vent tube was not blocked upon inspection. The bearings and seals are not even six months old. Any ideas would be appreciated. I did manage to break the vent pipe where it goes into the axle housing though. The part that is in the housing stayed there and the pipe came off. Does anyone know how it's held in the axle so I can get it out please? Is it just a push-in fit, tapered fit perhaps. I need to get it out and repair it.
  16. I put a set of George's Bilsteins on my 65 a fews ago and they are the best. Worth every cent. Wish he made them for my 71 I had to pay quite a bit to get them shipped Downunder too, not to mention the exchange rate. Combined with my custom rear sway bar and heavier front bar it corners extremely well. Hey, it's not compulsory, buy what you want.
  17. We recently organized the Aussie ROA Meet and I had a lot of fun doing some sketches. It took me a long time to get the right amount of distortion and the wheels were difficult but I learned I can do it. Lucky no one had to pay me by the hour We used this for T-shirts and logos for the meet.
  18. Congratulations to all the winners. Great to see some faces to go with the names.
  19. Very clever idea. Good work and thanks for sharing
  20. My Electro Cruise came back to life today after doing what Tom Mooney suggested. Thanks to all. It's nice to have these things working.
  21. Yes, the rotors will fit but if you already have disc brakes you have to change calipers etc. If you have drums you will need to buy rotors, calipers hoses etc from the USA and the bracket kit from me. Hope this helped. Contact me through my website if you have further questions www.mako.com.au
  22. Bolt-in, no cutting or welding 22mm in dia. includes all mounting hardware required. Prices shown are in AU$ so you'll need to take about 25% off what's shown. Drive after about one hour installation. (see detailed online instructions)
  23. I haven't pursued rear discs and don't intend to. In my opinion it's more work than it's worth.
