  1. Another thing that is outstanding about Gord’s car is that it has the standard interior but with all the other bells and whistles.
  2. I found a picture of Gord’s car in his album on his profile. click on the picture and you can enlarge it for more detail
  3. https://www.classicindustries.com/product/PB100101.html?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAxaCvBhBaEiwAvsLmWIAaywaBsfYGqYr-4a9acq9UJzCZ0R_gd3Wqvc2m1kBXs-ufk_R1zBoCweYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Classic industries. It’s a hassle to order from them though. Long wait time on the phone - I finally got through late in the afternoon for them, early evening for me. You have to set up an account to order. Long processing time for shipping. But they’re the only company I found that has these particular pieces. I’m taking a chance on this kit. The Electra, LeSabre, Special, and Wildcat are listed as well as many Chevy and BOP makes for many years, but the Riviera is not listed. In my 64 shop manual the booster for the 4700 model is shown separate from the 4400, 4600, and 4800 models but the only difference that I found was in the port for the vacuum source. I’ll have it in a few days (hopefully) and see what I have and repost what I find.
  4. https://zohr.com/tires/cooper-tires/cooper-trendsetter-se-225-75-15-01312/ I bought a set of Cooper Trendsetters for my 90 Rivier just a year ago from Discount Tire. My 90 too a 205/70R15 but I know the tire comes in the 225/75R15 for the first Generation Riviera.
  5. You asked if I have a picture of the entire car. The answer is “sorry, no,”. Since I took the picture of the tire for a reference for my own ‘65 (since sold) Gord has sold this car and moved to Florida. It was used on the T-shirt for one of the ROA meets however. I do no know if Gord ever did a write up on it for the Riview. Perhaps if you search this forum, you can find other pictures. I know that the brochures for the 1965 Riviera feature cars with these 3 ring whitewalls.
  6. Here’s a tire option for the 1965 Riviera. This picture is of Gord Wolfgang’s 1965 triple black 1965. The following quote comes from Tom Mooney in an old post here on this forum. ”Blackwall tires were standard equipment. Optional and correct whitewall tires for the `65 were/are 8:45 X 15 triple stripe white walls.”
  7. Mon O man. What ever happened to the good old days. In 2004, I bought a 1984 Riviera, V8, blue with a vinyl top for $850. Drove it 200 miles to home. Put a Maaco paint job on it and drove it for 5 years before selling it. New tires in time along with new shocks. Otherwise just gas and oil. Drove it to ROA meets in Galena, IL, Harrisburg, PA, and Lake of the Ozarks,MO.
  8. I found a kit that has the check valve, seals, silencers, a well as the boot. Might as well do it all while it’s all apart. 😁
  9. Found some. Why I didn’t Google first, I don’t know.
  10. We pulled the power booster so we could clean and paint the firewall. The boot on the rod between the booster and the brake pedal is cracked and falling apart. Can anyone give me a reference for a replacement? Thanks Ed
  11. I was referring to the vinyl top that extends across the trunk.
  12. Many moons ago I had an arrangement with Acme Auto Headlines in Long Beach to act as a distributor for their headliners. N me of their older brochures the offered a kit that extended the Rivera boat tail’s vinyl top to a point that ended like this one does. In the kit you got the matching vinyl - precut, the stainless moldings, and clips. This could be one of those kits.
  13. I have the list of parts. From what I remember, the other parts should be fairly common. 1/2 ton Chevy pickups supplied most of the parts. I cannibalized a full sized Buick for all of the brake parts, which I still have. M/C, lines, calipers, rotors, disks, etc. I’ll give them to anyone who wants to come by and pick them up.
  14. If anyone else might be interested, I have an unused set of Scarebird brackets that I won’t be using. Send me a PM.
  15. All 1963s, custom and standard interiors, had black vinyl on the console, from top to bottom. In 1964, standard up interior cars replicated the 1963s; custom interior cars had the 1/4 sawn walnut top to bottom. In all 1965s, the radio surround was black but the rest of the console pieces were 1/4 sawn walnut.
  16. Thanks for jolting my memory, Steve. I too miss conversations with Carl, he was an amazing source of information. My car is finally getting to the paint stage after replacing all the brake stuff and anything and everything that is rubber. It will get painted a Claret color as well - from a Lexus color chart - Claret Mica. I’d post a picture of the color but every picture of it shows up differently depending on the lighting.
  17. I’ve found that different computer monitors show the same pictures in different shades. I had a full sized monitor connected to a laptop. I could look at the same picture on each and the color on each would show up in different shades. Nothing but the naked eye will give you the true color.
  18. What do you have, rechromed, in the way of 1st generation arm rest extensions for switches for p/s, p/w, and p/ vents?
  19. For a non air car with the “rare” cast covers and 65 rocker moldings this guy has some gall to ask what he’s asking. Especially if he doesn’t know which motor it has - “401/425”. He could have at least painted the engine the correct color and found a decal for the air cleaner.
  20. I cannot find what I did with it, but I was given the tweaked formula for Claret Mist that the Best in Show 1964 was painted by the guy who was the tech advisor for the ROA. Sorry but I cannot remember his name off hand. But he tweaked the original color enough to really make that car’s paint pop. I don’t think the pictures for ROA meets go back far enough in the Riview to have a picture of that car. In the sun, the car was brilliant.
  21. The panel in the car is a 64. In ‘65, the “lables” for each accessory were separate and screwed onto the panel with the proper switch. Here is a picture of a 1965 radio in the dash. The “labels” for the antenna and courtesy light are separate with the switch. Put them in any position you want. If the owner of this care desired, he could swap places for these two switches. You will also notice that the trim around the radio is black as is the rest of the dash.
  22. In searching for a windshield, I found that shipping is more than 1/2 the price of the glass, and that’s from Indiana to Kansas - freight dock to freight dock, no delivery to any other address. No telling how much it would be from Oregon to Kansas.
  23. That is a 64, you can tell by the accessory/courtesy light/antenna plate but the knobs on the radio are from a 1965. Apparently the radios are the same, only the knobs are different.
