  1. Larry, Thanks for doing this. Lets me know that this is not for me. Good work Takes some know how. Ed
  2. I had the same problem on my 63. I had the starter motor rebuilt to high torque specs and never had a problem after. I think it came down to the physical prooerties of expansion with heat. As the wiindings cooled, they contracted and everything works loke it's supposed to.
  3. I ordered a pair of 21 mm greasable Prothane bushings. I have a rear sway bar, the kind that bolts to the rear control arms, but I’m looking for more of a comfortable ride than anything else. I did swap out the stock springs for some H2 springs that have a 2” drop. If I lived close to Mulholland Drive rather than the flat lands of Kansas, I might do some things differently. A larger front sway bar and the rear bar would be bolt-ons and wouldn’t take much to install, should I feel the need.
  4. I do have a good crimping tool, thanks, bought it specifically for crimping ends of some Aveco terminals. Ed
  5. I saw that but didn’t do enough research. This Energy Suspension bushing measure .826”; 27/32” in decimal equivalents is .844. I doubt that .018” would be anything to be concerned about, especially when it would be on the tight side rather than the loose side, and it’s greased.
  6. Thanks, That’s the same as we came up with “7/8 less about a 32nd”. I can find 3/4” and 7/8” bushings but nothing at 27/32“. Any ideas?
  7. In the latest Clark’s Corvair catalog, the section that shows colors of carpet, trunk mat, vinyl, leather, and headliner material, there is also a section that shows “Trunk and Kick Panel Cardboard” in EIGHTEEN (18) different colors.
  8. As the title says, I’d like to know the diameter of a stock front sway bar for a 1964 Riviera. I’d like to add greasable poly bushings. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Ed
  9. Just yesterday I contracted a guy here in the KC area who parted out a 64 a couple of years ago. He thinks that he has the under the hood harness and 🤞🤞a power seat harness. James @Bestoffercounts has connectors with which I can build a vent window harness if Steve Lorenzen doesn’t come through for me.
  10. I’ve been in contact with Steve. He’s looking for me.
  11. Gord Wolfgang, @msdminc If you’re out there, chime in. Ed
  12. Some time ago I started collecting OE air conditioning parts for my 1963 Riviera. The on it had not worked in the last couple of years I had it. I then bought a 1964 Riviera to drive. It too needed the a/c fixed so I gathered more parts. I’m now installing a Vintage Air unit in the ‘64 and I’ve set aside one each of the parts that I think that I might need when I get around to the ‘63. Therefore I have what I consider a few good parts that I won’t need. I’ll gladly give pieces to anyone who might need them for his car. All you’ll need to do is cover $$ for shipping and a couple of bucks for packing materials. PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST PARTS TO RESELL ON EBAY ETC. That would not be kosher. These parts are for you to fit to your car. Here are some pictures of what I have. Ask if you don’t see what you’re looking for. These parts are takin up,room in the garage. I may have more parts downstairs or in the shed. The evaporator box shows some surface rust but the insulation is good on the interior walls. sorry that I didn’t lay this stuff out as neatly as Kreed did.
  13. I have a box of miscellaneous wires. When I’ve stripped some of them down, I’ve found that the wires themselves are pretty subtle. It’s the plastic tape they’re wrapped in that is brittle. I took the tape off the driver’s side of the ‘64 under hood harness that I have and found the wires to be in good shape. I can use it but I’ll have to figure out where a few blunt need wires go. I have a new roll of non-adhesive wire wrap that I’ll use to rewrap what I’ve got. My biggest chore is to figure out what the truncated wires go. I have a nice 63 harness but I’d have to wire a kick down wire into it. The other situation with the 63 harness is that in 63 the turn signal housings have only two lamps instead of three. I think the third light in the 64 housing is for an amber light that is a parking light or a bulb that come on with the headlights. With the headlights in the grill of the 63/64, at night the car appears narrower than it really is. Was the addition of the third light a way of defining the actual width of the car? If I do go with the 63 harness I have the 63 turn signal housings to go with the harness. I can always use the cornering light openings to create a parking lamp and/or some daytime running lights. Time will tell which road I take. James @Bestoffercounts has wire ends and other pieces for use in creating new harnesses. I could go that route as well - at least everything would be new and shiny for good contact.
  14. My ‘64 did not come with a power seat or power vents. But I have the frame with motor and transmission for the seat and the control on the arm rest extension along with the proper face plate; and the the vent window motors and switches, both master and passenger side and the same correct face plates for the arm rest extensions. What I DO NOT HAVE for both is the correct factory wiring harnesses. I have pieced together a bunch of wires and connectors but they’re not as neat as the factory pieces. If you have either or both, please reach out to me, I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance, Ed
  15. You have no reference for mounting and aligning a fender until you’ve aligned the door to the rear quarter and the rocker panel.
  16. Do as @gungeey says and install new bushings and pins. Then as @1965rivgs says align the door with the rear quarter and rocker panel - the only two solid reference points. Everything else aligns to the doors once they’re aligned to the body.
  17. I only need the caps. I’ll PM you with shipping info and how you’d like to be paid.
  18. In restoring my ‘64, I don’t know whether I’m losing it or if I’ve lost it. I cannot find the two brackets that secure the sway bar bushings to the frame. If anyone has a couple to sell, please send me a PM. My car came with neither power vent windows or a power seat. Rather than make up a crude wiring harness for these, I’m looking for the factory harnesses for each. From the controls on the extended arm rest to the motor for the seat and from the controls on the extended arm rest to each vent window switch and each motor. Once again, if you can help, please send me a PM. Thanks, Ed
  19. We will have to wait on that. Right now I have a shell of a body on thr frame. Nothing that would work. Thanks, Ed
  20. What would you need from me?
  21. https://www.eastcoastreattaparts.com/collections/recently-added/products/rear-shocks East Coast Reatta Parts as Ronnie suggested
  22. I could clean up one of the extras that I have and paint it for a preview. Or if someone does photoshop well, that would be good.
