  1. I changed mine back in 2003. I bought AC Delco 6428629 Bob Bonto
  2. I don't think this came out of a 72 Riv with posi, the one tip off was there was no posi tag. In checking the full size Buick service manual for 71, the axle code for 3.42 posi should be QAO. The service manual did not list any AO codes for any other full size Buicks. Perhaps this is for the Skylark series. I cannot tell you what the 95 represents as the manual does not have any such info. The last letter "O" designates the manufacture which was Oldsmobile. I believe that Buick used the same codes for a number of years. Robert Bonto
  3. I checked my 71 today, that is a rubber cover for a insulator. I have attached a copy from the 72 assembly manual, as you can see where it is and there is no bolt. the diagram shows where the bolts are. Robert Bonto
  4. Yes the Riviera GS handling package A9 included radial HR70/15 tires. As Seafoam pointed out, if the tires are more than 10 years old, they need to replaced. Bob Bonto
  5. Had my booster done by them last year, also got a package of "booster nuts". Great people to do business with. Robert Bonto

  7. I've had Bilstein shocks on my 71 Riv for many years now. In my opinion, you cannot get a better shock. They are not cheap, but they do come with a lifetime guarantee. Performance Suspension Technology sells a set for $472. https://p-s-t.com/
  8. Like Ed, Chris was also a very dear friend of mine. He would also call me once a week. He came to Akron one year to take in The Glenmoor Gathering car show and ended up helping to judge a class. I still miss those weekly phone calls. Robert Bonto
  9. Sorry about that, thought I was in the lower hose section. Dug into my old Delco & Gates catalog. Delco 24062L Gates 20919 Robert Bonto
  10. 11. No reproduction that I know of and I don't believe there ever will be. Bob Bonto
  12. All the factory literature shows the front plate holder. When I ordered my 71 GS, there was no option on the wholesale order form to delete. Most likely someone wanted a cleaner look and removed it. Bob Bonto
  13. Bill, I'm not having problems with my radio, mine works just fine. it is the person who posted the question that is having problems. Robert Bonto

  15. A standard RY8 relay should work. The relay is located above the left kick panel. The radio is on a separate circuit, check the fuse for radio. Robert Bonto
  16. In checking one of my old Buick master parts catalogs, it shows the hose for 67-68 full size models. the 69-70 hose is showing a different part # which means they are different Robert Bonto
  17. Yes it has the Cadillac Samoan Bronze paint. Bob Bonto
  18. This past Sunday I attended the Molto Bella car show at Stan Hywet in Akron. Andy Star bought his magnificent 65 Riviera GS to the show. The car was a huge hit, needless to say I am still drooling . Here is the link to the article that appeared in Monday's Akron Beacon Journal. https://www.ohio.com/news/20190908/unique-restored-65-buick-hit-at-molto-bella-car-show Bob Bonto
  19. The 455 engine does give off a lot of heat and depending on what the outside temperature is. Unless you find something leaking.
  20. That is not entirely true that the side molding was not available in 71. I had placed my order for my 71GS the last week of March. A few weeks later in April, the owner of the Buick dealer called me and asked me to stop in. He showed me a promotional picture from Buick that showed the side molding that had just became available. He asked me if wanted to see if they could add it to my 71. I said yes. A week later, the dealer called me and said that my car was in production and it was too late to add. Another mid year change was the medium gold vinyl top that had become available in February 71, which mine has. Only 456 71 Riv's left the factory with the medium gold vinyl top. I do not know how many had the side molding. Bob Bonto
  21. If they are so popular, why did GM phase out the Chevy Volt? Bob Bonto
  22. Try Just Dashes , pricey but they do an excellent job of restoring your original pad. http://www.justdashes.com/ Robert Bonto
  23. You are correct, the handle does not remove. It is the same for all 71-73's. Bob Bonto
  24. No one at this time is making battery trays. Robert Bonto
