  1. No EGR and I am using all the Reatta sensors, except for the crank and cam sensors also the injectors. The only extending of wires I did were for the injector plugs and MAF. I did figure out the TCC I was using a TCC control out of a 88. I replaced it with the 89 one I picked up the other day and now it all works fine. Just waitting on the new tuned chip from Ryan at Synister Performance, formerly GMTunners.com
  2. I am swapping in a series 1 SC engine and need to use the TCC diagnostics. Problem is I do not think the info shown is right. I cannot find airflow and the O2 is showing up in degrees. Could some one with an 89 enter the diagnostics and tell me what each level of the ECM data displays? Second, if my TCC is showing the wrong info any ideas on how to fix it
  3. just thought I would check one more time

    '88 radio

GO TO A JUNK YARD AND GET A RADIO BRAIN OUT OF A 88-94 CHEVY PICK UP (IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE EQ FUNCTION JUST MAKE SURE THE TRUCK HAD THAT OPTIO). IT IS CHEAPER AND LESS TIME CONSUMING THAN REPLACING CAPS OR ORDERING ONE FROM SOMEWHERE. ALSO THE BRAIN IS MOUNTED UNDER THE DASH ON THE PICKUPS SO THEY DID NOT GO THROUGH THE TOURCHERS SOME OF OURS MAY HAVE i.e. SPILLING OF DRINKS ON THE CENTER CONSOLE
  5. I forget who wanted to know, but the ecm from a 91 will not work in a 89. I tried it today and fried the 91 ECM
  6. nice reatta and welcome to the forum. where in WA are you at? I am in lacey/FT Lewis if you ever need any part or assistance with your beuaty
  7. if you have any millitary service I would try USAA, cheaper than the rest and service is second to none
  8. My money is on the ing control they can go bad at any time. One othet thing you might check is the CPS and harmonic balancer (I put a new one on and with in two weeks it brke into four or five pieces, but I could not notice it until I watched the speed of the belts while the car was cranking.) If it is the control mod I would preform the upgrade that is on padgett's web page. The upgrade works great and is a more reliable ignition control mod
  9. I am almost done with swapping in a sc 3800 in to my 89 and the engine will not crank. Does any one know where the nutral safty switch is?

  11. try cardomain for the material for the covers. then taking the door panels of is not to hard, (just remove the visible screws, then pull out and up) the grill assy is held on by push nuts. remove them and strech on new covering.
  12. That is the plan. to use it for "other things" I know a mono chrome cannot be used for other things but maybe a color sceen can be used as a monochrome and have a switched input for "other things" I am going to have to research the year that the color crt came out of.
  13. I would love to be at the meet but I will be in Iraq. Any pics from the show would be appreciated. daniel.s.mckinney@us.army.mil
  14. does any one know if the color screen in the torfinos will adapt to our system?
  15. Yes they are removable. I believe the BCM controls said items and it also stores the odometer reading (atleast that is what I have been told) I do know that the body fuses provide power to the BCM and when it blows the speedometer ect do not work.
  16. OK reatta hub is 70.3mm and the rims are 70.7mm so they are very close to center (but will never be perfect) OK alignment shop did not find anything wrong, but I started checking and when the wheel is moved slightly from right to left there is a a "thump" (kind of like one you would expect to come from a bad tierod-end) from the rack and pinon set up. Does any one know how to tel if the rack and pinon is bad or going bad?
  17. I would wire in a relay and a diode (so the horn will not honk when your doors lock/unlock manually) to the door lock wire coming from the anti theft system.
  18. got to reatta.net and run the brake test step by step, then report back.
  19. I will check for a bulge this evening. thanks
