  1. Couldn't we use a coil over set up and remove the leaf all together? Here is one for the Caddy side of the house. http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/Strutmasters/Coil-Overs/Cadillac-Eldorado-Strutmasters-Rear-Coil-Over-Shock-Conversion-Kit-_-CAD_R1/787315/ I am pretty sure these would be a bolt on. You may have to install the leveling kit for it, but that is easy enough and can be programmed in to the system.
  2. The rod bearings were worn in a pattern that indicates they didn't go back and repolish the crank. I replaced them 18 months ago and put on 150 miles. The rod bearings looked great when I pulled them this time. I did not pull the mains when I did the rods bc the engine was still in the car. I doubt there is much in the filter as the oil was clear, but I will check also I will drag the oil passage before I put the new crank in. Once I get past this I will probably do a write up on the F40 series two swap. I have something I don't think anyone else has done and hopefully helps a few that have or will do the swap weather it is in a Reatta or other car.
  3. I didn't find any blockage. The rebuild had about 1000 miles on it. I am replacing the crank and all the bearings. I can't figure out the cause thus far, so it is a bit of a gamble. The whole engine block was gone through by a shop prior to the rebuild. I am kind of lost on this one.
  4. Anyone know what would cause this?
  5. I miss spoke. It is the adx file for an 89 I need
  6. If someone has it. I need the original bin for an 89.
  7. Someone once said Lumina axles might fit the getrag. I had to piece my axles together from the g6 and reatta outer joints. not hard to do just hard to figure out a good combination.
  8. Take fuel pressure readings. watch the pressure from idle to high rpms. rev the engine a few times and see if it drops off.
  9. I responded to each of the PMs I received. If all who say they want a set purchase them I am down to the last set. It took four years to sell them all off. Some of that is probably because I stopped listing them on Ebay. I put quite a bit of money into having them produced. If I have them produced again I am sure it will cost me the same if not more. I guess what I am getting at is there enough of a market to have an other production run done? Also would changing the color from red to black be more pleasing for the forum members?
  10. I still have a few sets available. PM me if interested.
  11. The 98-00 f body cars used rwd transmissionsn with the gm fwd bellhousing pattern
  12. It will bolt up. Use ing a Camaro flywheel and few other parts
  13. All the newer auto transmissions (strong enough for the 3800) seem to be a bit big for our platform. I am not sure if gm ever did a five speed fwd auto. I have not looked.
  14. Bad ground. Clean or replace ground to engine
  15. If you have the room 2000 Firebird/Camaro breaks work well. If room is an issue there is a dual caliper Monte Carlo brake that works, but I do not remember the year.
  16. Originally it was hydraulic. Most of the after market ones I have seen are solid rubber.
  17. I do not know a thing about the sketches, but judging by the wheels they chose to use I would guess they are much newer than pre production renderings. Low profile tires where not very common in that time frame.
  18. The connector is easiest to remove from the pedal itself. This watch there is no need to readjust.
  19. Ther are four nuts on the interior of the firewall. Use a universal joint and 15 mm.
  20. I blew three transmissions that is why I swapped to a manual. Granted I was getting 50,000 miles off a stock rebuild. Usally the clutchessential went first.
  21. It looks like it may fit over my axle area, so I can remove my remote filter. I have been looking for a solution for a bit and Have not found one that will work for me. That is with out re engineering my motor mounts. If you have a chance could you take a couple pictures of it. I am really interested in if it stays behind the edge of the timing cover front.
  22. Barney, Do you by chance still have that oil filter adapter from the police version?
  23. Not worth it. Transplant the engine. Other option is rebuild the ln3 block with the sc crank. May as well throw the cam in too. But here you go. http://forums.aaca.org/topic/79774-supercharging-this-time-its-real/
