  1. Rest assured, any problems that may have occurred in the past are 'water under the bridge' as Jim has aptly pointed out. In fact the organization has never been stronger, that is why my membership renewals are three years at a time !!
  2. Here's a link to your eBay listing: Buick : Riviera Buick : Riviera | eBay
  3. Good posting Dale, I was about to attempt to explain the difference !!
  4. While it does look good with those blackwalls, I prefer the wide whitewalls showing !! Thanks for the comparison pics.
  5. If your original parts are not suitable, good 'used' is probably your best bet. Not sure if the seat backs are repro'd, but others here may know a specific source. Faded hard plastic parts in good condition can be repainted ( ...with special paint), to match your interior color and restore that 'like new' look.
  6. Just found this low mileage, clean original '85 Riviera on 'evilBay' !! Buick : Riviera Buick : Riviera - eBay (item 170777304294 end time Feb-14-12 19:29:23 PST)
  7. . . . can you say "rufffff", my thoughts too Dan !!
  8. The replacement seal may not have the same 'profile' as the original, or the material may be a different composition as you stated. You might be able to adjust the side glass slightly, to eliminate/reduce the leaking problem, but its 'project' that you may or may not want to perform, as it involves a fair amount of worked to access all the side glass adjustment points. The widow adjustments are covered in the '70 Body Service Manual. The alternative is to stay away from high pressure car washes !!
  9. The Gray one (left) is the Cornering Lamp Option. The Blue one (right) is the Side Marker Lamp only version.
  10. I am also a fan of the wider whites, that are harder to find now. Diamondback is also another source for this style, in fact they have just about any width WW you want for your classic car. Thanks for the update on the trim for those skirts Ed, and fenwick. That '70 'red headed stepchild' is 'slicker' than fresh snot on a door knob !!
  11. Just an observation and question on the side profile pic: Shouldn't those skirts have a chrome lip that mates with the lower stainless mouldings on the rocker panel and the rear 1/4 panel ?
  12. Don't have a '70 iether, but your '70 is an "i" catcher !! Black, on Black, with Black - looks sharp with the chrome sweepspear, full style skirts, and those wide white walls.
  13. There are also several listed on 'evilBay' from various Vette parts places for a little less coin. They also show a repro 2 port Vette vacuum headlight switch that will work on '68-'69 Rivs, for those that may need one. The prices seemed quite reasonable.
  14. Correction - there is a repro part available, thanks to ROA member Kurt Peterson !! Corvette World in Irwin, PA has a Headlight or Wiper Door Vacuum Relay listed for '68-'82 Vettes, and it is the same as the one used in '68-'69 Rivieras. Part # 6554, on p. 180 of the online catalogue - $54.95 1-800-327-0185 is the order line phone number for Corvette World.
  15. . . . looks like Al, with hair 'n shades - nice vid !!
  16. I've probably got as much grey, but I'm thinking they all should light.
  17. . . . they were just trying to make it look real ' purrty' for Davy P. !!
  18. Wrong GS fender badges, + no GS on glove box door !!
  19. The reply came back: ". . . no idea, sir !"
  20. Good "i" Al . . . once that fender is holed, it's too late to change !! I contacted the seller to see if they know why - they have previously listed and sold some other very nice Rivieras on 'evilBay'.

  22. Cars Inc. (www.oldbuickparts.com) also has '66-'70 retainers available to fit 2 1/8" or 2" centre hole diameters. Here's Mitch's phone number and email address: 847-705-5761, mitchromanowski@sbcglobal.net, as I don't think he has a website.
  23. As Kevin stated check the entire system for possible vacumm leaks. The vacumm distribution block on the lower firewall is the source for cruise control. Make sure all the connections to the transducer are clean.
  24. Nice story, and a nice car, but I'm sorta partial to those '68's !! It's also good to see you are keeping it in good original condition - maybe someday you can pass it on to someone in your family !!
