Is the 65 an LL paint code?

It is a "Special Car Order" SCO code.  I wish i knew what the special order color was so I can repaint it back.  The origal color was a bit darker and less green more grey appearing.  Is there any way to document what the original color was?  It was originally owned by a member of the Lammerts family like the fabulous Samoan Bronze 65 GS so I wonder if they ordered several in Cadillac colors?

  2. I too have an SCO 1965 Riviera.  The original owner's daughter said its always been "greenish" but darker.  It was repainted in the 80s or earlier.  The jams and under the decklid look like a grey with green metal flake.  I really want to find the original color.  Mine was also sold at Lammerts in Niagra Falls like the SCO Samoan Bronze GS.  This one went to Mr. Lammerts daughter in law in Oklahoma City.

  3. I feel very fortunate to have found my Limited. I have had a 58 olsmobile Ninety Eight Holiday Sedan for a while and recently aquired a 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special, both local one owner cars. My partner in crime and I laughed and said we needed a 58 Limited to round out the GM Chrome Trifecta of 1958. Knowing how rare and expensive Limiteds are, we didn't see it happening anytime in the near future. Imagine our surprise when she turned up on Craigslist 10 miles from home! The listing just said "1958 Buick Riviera Sedan." I have found 3 rusty areas, small spots in both rockers and 1 small spot in one of the rear wheel wells. The floors are fairly solid and the rear bumper appears very solid. Its a 1 family owned car sold new here in Oklahoma. She was parked outside in 1976 after a small front end collision that damaged the bumper. She is a very early car (Body 99) and was originally equipped with Air Suspension. She is black with silver and black interior. What interior does yours have?

  4. CADMANOKC, you're just the guy to ask. I ran across a reference lately that said some '58 Cadillacs had an extended rear deck, similar to the '58 Limiteds. Is that true of the Sixty Specials, like your Bertha? Sure looks extra long.

I remember an acquaintance had a '58 60S and I was so jealous of a) the chrome on the rear quarters and B) the row of eight window switches on the driver's door panel. Both the front and rear quarter windows were powered, as well as the side glass of course.

Old Cadillacs may be fine cars but Buicks have the best AACA forum!

In 1958 Cadillac offered a standard deck and an extended deck in the de Ville and 62 Series. The extended deck cars outsold the std or short deck models. The extended deck was the same length as a Fleetwood Sixty Special.

  5. We got her moved just before the snow and ice storm hit. She got her first bath in 37 years. I think the paint might even polish up pretty well too! Most people dont travel with polishing compond but we do! Helped kill time waiting for the trailer.

  6. Well, we got her dug out from her 37 year resting spot and didn't even hit and trees or the 64 Cadillac parked snugly next to her. I found one of the missing Limited scripts but none of the diagonal hash marks as of yet. The only rust I've found has been a smal patch in the right rear wheel well and under the moulding on teh right rocker panel. Im sure we will find more when we peel the old carpet out. She already looks liek a different car.

  7. The limited is a little rougher than I would have liked (aren't they all?), but it is a local car with all history and I've certainly bought worse! We will pick her up this weekend or early next week. It has the black cloth/silver leather interior. The drivers seat is worn out and everyhting has a layer of Oklahoma red dirt. In this family since new, she was parked in 1976. i think a good bath and some aired up tires will make it look like a different car. The poor girl does need some dental work however.post-52456-143142295947_thumb.jpg

  8. Thank you for the welcomes. It has A/C, Auto Dimming and of course power seat and windows but shows no evidence of ever having air suspension. My Oldsmobile is an Air Ride car, however. It was replaced by the dealer around 1960 but some of the components are still there. This Limited is body number 99. I wonder if any earlier cars are out there? Here are Blanche (58 Olds) and Bertha (58 Caddy).

  9. Hello everyone. My name is Jim Jordan. Ive always said I needed a 58 Limited to go with my 58 Fleetwood and 58 Ninety Eight. never thought that would happen until one popped up on Craigslist less that 15 miles from me in Oklahoma City. I am now the proud owner of this 2 owner Black sedan that has been parked since 1976. It appears to have all options except air suspension. It will be a long slow process to get her back on thepost-52456-143142294063_thumb.jpg road but Im glad we were able to save her.

  10. This project car has been parked since 1952. It is rough but complete. The floors are rusty but frame is solid. I believe it to have been a TX and OK car. One of 125 built, this car was originally finished in Antoinette Blue with Red Leather. It has optional radio, fresh air heater with under seat units and is equipped with very rare dual sidemount spares. The car appears complete less the radiator. Even the detachable "center window pillars are there! there are also many duplicate parts such as bumpers and transmission/driveline. Located in Oklahoma City, OK. Email for more detailed photos.

I am trying to figure out what the are from and how to sell them. So far, the consensus among my friends and i is 1935 ish Auburn. Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks in advance,

    Jim
